Quite big time gaps on this first mountain stage ruffing up the GC. Talansky doing half decent - would be nice to see him continue to fight and try and nudge into top 10 GC. Would also like to see a presence in the break on the follow-up mtn stage from one of our back-up climbers - lots of mtn 74-77 guys to throw in the break, please one of you pay attention early doors!
Surprised to see Abal dominate this first MTF, thought it would have been a more tactical defense of the jersey. Few surprises up front too, obviously some good daily form coinciding with a key stage.

Pre Race - Biggest Race of the year please Inxtausti don't be bad again
Stage 1 - Morizot in 6th is a great TT bit worried that Intxausti only managed 8th but not too much time lost at all
Stage 2 - Standard not much to see here
Stage 3 - Same again happy not to lose time
Stage 4 - What even is that FFS Intxausti, great ride Reus to get in the break Morizot even climbed quite well but CBA with mountains now take me back to the hills |

This is quickly becoming a hugely disappointing race, I don't mind not being involved in the GC, but we have to get guys into the breakaway, something to create worthy mention that we are in fact part of this race.

That's what I'm talking about, baby!
Get used to Demare raising his arms in a Puma jersey, this is only the start of something very big.
Good to know it's worth sending leadout guys to this kind of stage races. Giaux/Bar instead of Arndt/Giaux would have been even deadlier, but this certainly shows why I invested quite some money in Arndt.

Cabrera 4th. At least he's banging those points, since Walter is useless today.. |

How did I know Awang would get dropped? Mundle did good getting into the break getting us some TV time, hopefully we can carry on doing so in future stages.

This stage was the only reason Efimkin was here, looked pretty decent for him, and he joined the break so I guess the mission was half-completed. Shame it turned into a sprint in which we stand no chances here with Ulanowski riding the Giro...

Great job by Guillén picking a sweet hell, shame Prio decidet to fuck up their lead-out today of all days.
Still a decent top 10 by Guillén, is it a comeback on the way?

A comeback for what? No more flat stage left here

Stage 5 was just a transportation stage for the last 2 stages!
Will be fun and exciting to see if Lövkvist can fight and hang on to a great GC place! |

It seems the reward of sucking at almost every race is having an outstanding race one in a life time.
Keep it rolling abal!
Thanks for the reports tsmoha!

Huge effort by Keizer to enter the top5 in GC before the TTT and I think my team of full 8 will be able to keep this 4th or I hope climb to 3rd.
Olivier did really well today with the relay station. That said I am still highly disappointed by my young dup to be not even top30 in GC. In especially not even close to U25 podium. This is unnecessarily loss of points.
Thanks for this nice report. |

Nepo just isn't strong enough, bad race with little points, won't save us I'm afraid. Only hope left here is winning the TTT, which seems highly unlikely too.

ahh back to reality for Lövkvist before the race started I would gladly take 8th in GC before the TTT but as good as he rode on stage 4 I´m a bit disappointed he couldn´t make another awesome stage
Thanks for all your reports tsmoha! |

Valls not too bad with Cobo there to help him.
We will struggle on the TTT though

Some excellent mountain tactics there. Begrudgingly ..... perfect tactics by Siam Cement! With the gap to Contador hovering at around '50 for much of the climb, I think he showed he was the best there the way he limited the gap in the end.
Just as I was hoping for, the race will be decided on the final TTT. Bring it on Siam! What a race!
Thanks tsmoha, will enjoy reading that stage again once this sunny day is behind me. |

Poor show by most of the team leaders to not be able to catch the likes of Olivier and Rodrigues who attacked all day.
Did Rodrigues really lead Sella all the way up, or did Sella take relays too?

Rodrigues all the way. It did even look like he would drop Sella, but eventually, the AI didn't fuck up here Olivier did relay for Keizer, too. But by far not as long as Rodrigues, obviously.
