This really was a brutal climb. Even more with the narrowness due to spectators.
Henao with a big attack there.
Kwiatkowski though only 7s behind. So nothing lost yet.
Strong ride by Yates once more and two veterans still there it seems with Sanchez and Scarponi. Strong performance by both today.
Wut? 6th in Vuelta last year not good enough?
With tomorrows stage, Sanchez should be the favourite ;D (can always dream)
True. Scarponi eventually the bigger surprise on this stage for me.
But also Sanchez I did not expect that high tbh. Around top20 only I had expected him.
Good ol' Sanchez, yeah, glad to see him up there as well. Interestingly Simon Yates was the strongest on Orica, that shouldnt come as a surprise tho as he was one of the strongest last year in Sebastian in what honestly looked like a similar climb. Chavez
Looking forward to the final results.

Just came here to drop a banana for Purito, no one climbs a wall with such grace as he does!
But actually, more: Great basque climb, incl. atmosphere and gradient. Way tougher than I imagined when I put on the bet for Gallopin stage win. Tim Wellens far down sad face. Nice to see Henao back on this level, from his riding I prefer him over the other colombians. Has Simon or Adam Yates a broken hand? If it's Simon than, kudos, wow. Looks like Majka has some form by now while Kwiatek is going strong as ever.

What a cracking stage that looked from just watching the last 8 k. No shock seeing Purito take it and Heano is in some quality form

Wow Purito What a climb! Still got it then. Anyway, when I put money on Gallopin that end wasn't what I imagined...

thank you Shonak.
Katusha superb year continues..I am glad to see Columbian cycling back and that strong. Missed this guys 5 years ago. They different riding style ...mad 5km. 10 km. atacks at the mountains...classic.
Surprise to see Taaramäe that high...it is not definatly he's type climbs..short..steep..narrow.
Kwiatek in bask ..still. I was at my fun camp at Denia week ago..there I saw Kwiatek with another Ettix guy descending..when I was climbing up that hill.
Pleased to see Purito still has good stuff in his legs - I'd like to see one more year for him to have a real go at a GT.
It was a nice race into that last climb yesterday - enjoyed the battle for position at the front. Henao is looking strong and eager, the Poles Majka and Kwiatek pretty good as well. Always going to be difficult to match Colombians and Purito so no disgrace in losing a bit of time.
Not familiar with Zakarin but I note some really nice results last year for Rusvelo, looks a good Russian prospect there. About time Katusha unearthed a decent home prospect.
