Anyways after they removed the TTT and Froome is out, this seems like a lock now. Quintana would have to gain approximately 1 minutes which he wont and I dont believe in Nibbles. Only one left is Uran, but Contador wont go easy on him on the climb
But Uran is usually pretty much average in early season, at least it was like that in the past years. Maybe this year will be different, with his 7th place at Strade. I wouldn't want to bet on it though.-

Yeah, that and the two timetrials (albeit very short) makes me think that Urán is the biggest contender to Contador here, but meh. |

Illness really seems to be taking it's toll this year, Roelandts and Greipel out of Omloop and KBK and now Froome and Kittel pulling out of Tirreno with illness
Its always like this around this time of the season
Yeah, BMI of those guys combined with the weather (changes) they are usually riding in, it's no surprise. I'm just annoyingly surprised at how Froome manages to miss out on T-A two times in a row, whilst being super healthy a few days prior in the opening race.
@Riis: Meh is pretty much the perfect word to describe right now the competition from the looks of it (Quintana crash recovery, Nibali being whatever, Froomy missing out), but well, let's just hope it'll be a thrilling race. Tirreno was amazingly exciting last year as well, although it was a one-man show by Bertie.

Brandle (IAM) currently leads with a time of 6'06" toppling Oss, showing his hour record form. |

That was a close but kinda expected result: Malori snatched the win out of Cancellara's hands, and that's his second of this year. Good start of the season for him who also got a s.t. 2nd place behind Tony Martin in Portugal.

Wow, Van Avermaet, not bad.
Yes, Malori takes it ahead of Cancellara
Are there boni seconds? Hope Sagan can take the leader's jersey. |

Nairo Q only 2 secs behind Contador and both beat by my favourite rider Mollema. That bodes well though, Urán as expected and Nibali a little stronger, but its very hard to take anything from this. Good prologue for the excitement of the race I would say. It would be hard to discount Pinot as well, he could be dangerous.
Also Betancur making massive progress. Only 171 were faster today. Bodes well for the future. |

Bad crash with 11km to go.
Most notable surely Pelucchi, who won`t stand a chance today now.
Also Thurau, Popovych and several 10-15 others. 3 Sky riders I think which also doesn`t bode very well for Viviani then. Also not sure which Sky riders as it would be interesting for GC.

Just switched over from PN. As long as any of them aren't badly hurt, this makes me happy. |

Nice win for Debusschere.
Going to be interesting to see if any big names went down in that massive crash. |
