I like him as a guy and rider, but Langeveld needs to step it up in the classics honestly. Especially after we let go a lot of our classics veterans. If he doesn't inprove we really need some signings of classics guys and sprinters.

Why not just focus on other areas? Sure, a few sprinters could be nice, but classics riders dont win jackshit anyways unless its the superstars and are relatively well paid to produce one month a year, tops. I would just focus on ardennes/climbing/GT instead where they already possess a decent team |

Agree with this! Why focus on signing anymore classic guys, can't see how it would be a sponsor priority anyway but having riders up front in sprints and up in the mountains in GT's is more important to a team like this

After taking a look at PCS' list of off contract riders, it would be easy to create a few high quality teams. I wonder if Alonso is still looking to get into cycling, would be a good year to do so.

Let's not hope that the Alonso circus roll back into town, so much talk for absolutely no action.
There is a heap of talk that Sky have also been talking to Landa, wouldn't be surprised if they signed him as the $$$ would be good but then what happens to Konig? The guy deserves leadership at a GT next season

Yup, and Sagan deserves 100% support, but they have both sealed their faith, thinking dollar dollar bilya |

Yep always chasing the big pay cheek isn't the best idea, Konig has a GT podium or two in him but he will struggle to that at a team like Sky. As for Sagan, I think he knows he made a mistake

Porte confirms (not that its much of a surprise) that he's leaving Sky in an interview after the TTT at the Tour

So I may be reading into things to much, or just overly hopeful as a BMC fanboy, but after the TTT today, Sagan was hanging around with BMC at their bus for a good while. I don't think anyone would be shocked to see Sagan not with Tinkoff next year, hoping BMC is a possible landing spot as it would be their first real sprinter on the team in a long time, and would give a scary 1-2 with him and Van-Avermaet/Gilbert through the classics.

Are we really going to have to debate business and taking care of your family over what some fan wants for a rider.
Guess what if you had an offer of 4m or an offer of 2m you would take the 4m. What is with the high and mighty bullshit that you guys think these riders should hold themselves too. Your career is short. Get paid. |

pretty confident riders are able to live of 2m just as well as 4m
also for König sake, it's probably better for him in the long run if he didn't go for the money now as he can make much more later on his career. some rider that helped Froome to victory a couple probably isn't as good on his resume as a GT podium

People can live of 10k a year, that is not the point. Why do you not understand that people have a life outside of the few years they make good money being a pro cyclist.
In a fantasy world sure it may be better for Konig but only very few teams pay the money he is making at Sky to literally do nothing. As much as you want him to be your hero he needs to do what is best for his family.
What team is he going to go to as leader in the first place? The answer is none. There is a big difference between PCM and real life. Sorry it is so hard for some of you folks to understand. |

No, he could be leader on several teams, but so could Porte... But at the end of the day, the riders make the choice what team to sign for.

No he could not, from a skill standpoint sure. But that is not how it works in real life. There at most 2 teams where he could realistically be the leader and guess what, sky HAS been paying him more than he would get as leader of these teams. |

Well he's already proven he can get Top 10's in GT's with 2 different teams riding for himself as leader, so from a skill point he can, and then the other point (that you haven't clarified what it is exactly) doesn't actually help your argument. Im not sure what this "real life" thing is you mention.
Is it this?
2015 Giro GC - 6th
2015 Giro del Trentino GC - 3rd
2014 Tour de France GC - 7th
2014 Dauphine GC - 11th
2013 Vuelta GC - 9th
2011 Tour of Austria GC - 2nd
As well as various mountaintop stage wins, and Top 10 GC finishes in non PT races.
There is no question he could be a leader on other teams, for example, Etix (Czech sponsor...), IAM, possibly Lampre, Lotto, probably Giant, and maybe Trek.
Also, I was agreeing with your point more or less...
And about Rabo CT, they are miles ahead of Bontrager in terms of output.

Because bringing in more and more 3rd tier GC guys is going to improve their results and point output so much.

More like bye bye Van Avermaet. If Sagan comes in, he's the one getting the support, and Van Avermaet knows that. He's out of a contract too. I wouldn't expect to see Van Avermaet back at BMC. if Sagan comes in.

Well, according to Het Nieuwsblad they just signed a sprinter, being Wouter Wippert.
Porte would've signed with BMC for one year, while Stuyven stays with Trek despite interest of LTS and Etixx.
And as in every newspapee right now, both Landa and Kwiatkowski rumoured to be at Sky next year. |

Well, he proved he would be worthy GT leader MUCH more then Porte did, Porte is a rider for week long stage races, he is not a GT rider unlike König. Still, he is a dumbass for choosing SKY - from the fan point of view, of course in reality money are the most important thing for a professional athletes.
Meanwhile agent of Sagan is saying he will stay in Saxo on 100%, so lets see.
