calculated stats based on FINAL results
TankNL
Ok, I have updated the stats and now they include the points accumulated by the domestic helpers. I must say, personally I'm finding them pretty accurate.

https://dl.dropbo...%20v2.xlsx

Sure, especially the top riders in any category need manual adjustment (in Mountain, Hill, Cobble and ITT), but overall I think this can be a steady base for any database that is being build.

TankNL
I was thinking... The fighter stat, only is used by the AI to determine if and how often a rider attacks to get in breaks?

If so, I would be far more logical that a lower stat rider would have a higher fighter stat right? I could then give fighter stats based on the reverse of the Mountain, Hill, Sprint stat... (stat-85)*-1+50 or something like that... could be worth an experiment right? Or are the any other good suggestions on how to calculate the fighter stat.

TankNL
I'm also thinking of creating a .cdb file with the stats in order to experiment. I created a mapping with The PackITA 2014 and A.S.O. DB 2014. If some of you are interested to help me play through a season, that would be appreciated. Which of the 2 would you prefer I use as a basis?

So not so much interest? I'll go for the ASO one for myself then

TankNL
I did an update with all the races up until 10-08-2014
Excel file is here; https://dl.dropbo...%20v2.xlsx

Any thought on what could be nerved... bear in mind, that adjusting an individual can always be done, but I a group comes up to high, than the algorithm has to be investigated and perhaps altered.

Can you explain messed up?
Is it the fact that Contador is not the top mountain? Or that Valverde is first?

those top 10 riders can be altered in 2 minutes, when pasting the result in any .cdb file. I'm more interested in the rest. What do you think of the riders 10 to 40? Any surprises? are there riders missing?

zachbastian
maybe W. Barguil is missing in the MO

AiZaK
I don't like your stats

Valverde 84 in mountain??? Sagan 83 in sprints??? And many more crazy stats!

zachbastian
Whats is the last stats? Popularity, what does it do in the game?

that's the stat that the sponsor uses to see if a "big name" has entered a race. The popularity of a rider... this is messed up in every database that I've seen.

again... your zooming in on 2 riders...

Sagan has scored sooooo many points in the last 3 years in sprint stages... that my algorithm gives him (among 7 others) the highest points; 83. Of course I can adjust this while copying and pasting it into a database. Give Kittel 84, Cavendish 83 and the rest 82... but that's all matter of opinion. I would like to see if the algorithm in general produces the right stats... So apart from maybe a couple of riders that need to be nerved... any other feedback?

OK. Looks pretty good. Needs a few adjustments here and there, but interesting! Good work so far!

SAGAN:
But if a sprinter always finishes 4th or 5th...he isnt as good as the other sprinters...so just the points are not the only thing to look at...if kittel beats sagan all the time, sagan can not be the better sprinter...and if sagan wins small stages in smaller events against swift or renshaw, or whoever...it does not mean he is the greatest...so your "algorithm" is not perfect...

VALVERDE: if valverde would ride like his stats are here...he shold have won the tour by 8 mins or something like that.

OVERALL: does your "algorithm" mean, that if i would be a rider, and i would just participate in small events, and would win everything there...and if i would suck against nibali, froome... etc. i would still be the best rider overall?

Wild Dog
I think it's a question of changing the value for each race category (WT, .hc, .1 etc.) so the difference is bigger. That way the Tour for example will count even more and riders such as Sagan and Valverde will not be the best in sprints and mountains respectively.

EDIT: Also I don't know how well the stats will work ingame. One of the most concerning points is that Sagan (+ Kristoff and Degenkolb) scores most of their points in sprint stages with small hills in the end, and PCM can't see the difference from these stages and totally flat stages.. (Don't know if it has changed in PCM14..)
