Hang on a sec peloton gained 6 mins in 15 kilometres holy crap can this still be possible?
Yes. You (probably) forgot that the peloton climb way faster than the breakaway thats been pushing hard all day long, more so than if it was on the flat.

katusha either going for Purito or Trofimov for the GC.
I still don't know what's more likely
Or even Spilak. Seems a bit weird/late no matter who they go for.
don't think for Spilak, he's already 40 minutes down in the GC
For the stage, not GC. And I didn't say it was a smart move. |

yeah but 6 mins in 15 kilometres of flat is insane.

And now Spilak seems like a much better choice than Rodriguez for the stage |

Kadri was, as expected, flying. Holy crap. Its not like the peloton is going slow, but definetely now very fast either, allthough Majka is doing a great job. |

Yeah. On the flat, I'd say anything more than 1min per 2km is pretty crazy. On the climbs, a 5km climb depending on the gradient could easily bring back 3 or 4 mins on the breakaway if the pace is high enough.

I knew Kwiatek would fail. To already be dropped here is pretty pathetic.

Kwiatkowski is not going for GC. What else do you expect. At times he was leading sprint for Renshaw and has used up a lot of energy. Maybe a breakaway stage one day in this TdF. |

This is so similar to Riblon's wins last year. No good results prior ( well relative to winning Tour stage, although Kadri is even more drastic), then owns everyone.
Kadri's best results this season is 51th place in Oman and a total of 5 CQ ranking points
