Well certainly won't complain with two stage wins! Excellent lead out by Ayoune, and sprinting from Bennett. Nice to be leading in all competitions - though a sprinter is not going to win the Points jersey here, surely.
Now to hold my breath for Stage 4, that Berhane doesn't do anything stupid. Will be a good day to get in the breakaway if Jaguar have to do the pacesetting

From 20th to 2nd... It's PCM indeed! Great result, now off into the hills and mountains and for the Pedraza/Becerra show to start! |

I think my team would be smarter if Lima was Vanoverschelde's leadout instead of Cardoso... Still a decent result...
Now it's Topchanyuk's turn to do well in hte hilly stage, atleast trying to not lose time. If Efimkin can stay with him I'd be happy

And you've just blown my hopes to do well in the Vuelta al Tachira... Can only hope no one brings a real sprinter there (No Bennett isn't) so Vanoverschelde can atleast win me something there... Also quite a surprise Yekatrinburg will feature just 14 teams...

I don't think Anton Martin even sprinted for the finish, and I'm okay with that. It takes the yellow jersey pressure off us heading into the GC deciding stages. Team could use a few stages off from doing the pace making.

He still isn't... My team just needs to get a proper train... (Cardoso - Lima - Kobe and not Lima - Cardoso - Kobe)... I blame PCM!

Seeing Bennett that strong gives me some hope with Krieger next season when having similar stats. Nizzolo though for the stronger races then. |

That stage may be hilly but the MO/HIL ratio will be high surely? |

Now for the first interesting stage for us. The decent Mo/Hill ratio gives Samwel a good chance of staying with the favourites. Same profile as stage 5 last year where we took our first victory, so a repeat would be nice. |

Mmm... Disappointing from Rangel. Got excited when he went early, but that was fruitless. Can't wait for the next stage, curious to see which of my guys get in the break

First win of the season, and by a very nice margin. Maillet showing why he won the KoM jersey at the Tour last season with a very aggressive performance. And with Elissonde and Gadret to control the race, this is a great start

Huge effort from Maillet, congrats on that! Schwab stayed with the favorites, not more to expect on a stage like this.

Ugh,
And to think I had such hopes of PCM '13 actually being an improvement....

Hmm. In two minds. PCM always seems to struggle wen you get a stage like this with a sprinter in yellow - the bunch AI never seems that sensible (hence all riders should be instructed to attack!!). Although Maillet in a very strong position now, I'm not sure nailed on for the win just yet - still a lot of complex stages to come; he is a good climber, but there is better here - Eastman looked favourite to me pre-race with a strong support team in mountains present, so will wait to 1 or 2 mtn stages complete to concede the overall is fixed.
Nonetheless, no sensible chase is annoying, particularly the nmain group continuing to lose time in the last 15km's. Did mean that Nutresa managed to maintain 3 riders in the main group, which is a good outcome, balancing all the early stage attacking we've been involved in being shut down very early.
So race still to play for! The top teams should get together and wear La Vie Clare down over the next 2-3 days

In the break for the third day in four and still no points/mountain points/anything to show for it. Oh well, it's the attacking spirit that counts

Solid result on stage 3. Not disappointed.
But stage 4, what happened? Someone please explain how Fan Hsin Chu managed to do better than Feillu. That's twice now he's underperformed. Maybe he can sneak into a breakaway if he loses a bit more time.

Maillet does a Camano. No surprise, happy Samwel stayed with the rest of the overall contenders and looked relatively comfortable. Looking forward to the high mountains. |
