Team Presentation Part IV
And after presenting the "oldies" we would like to present our bunch of promising talents. And we have to say we are very, very, very proud on them.
Lasse Norman Hansen | | (22) | 78ACC,74PRL,70SP |
| | Lasse Norman Hansen will be a part of our leadout train. He is already a very strong engine on the flat roads but he will turn into a monster which will be very worthy for every Pro Tour squad due to his leadout abilities and even more his time trialling skills. But his real speciality is his punch where he shows more or equal talent than some of the most promising young talents and which will make him into an attacking weapon. | |
Andris Vosekalns | | (22) | 71MO,68HI,74FIG |
| | Andris is a talented climber who will hopefully turn into a super domestique for a future WT team. He already shows that he likes to attack. A trait we really appreciate considering that we have no mountain riders to contest with the best 100 riders in the continental tour. Worth sayin' is that he will be our leader in the mountains.. | |
Yannick Stoltz | (26) | 78FL,85FIG |
| | Stoltz is an unbelievable engine in CT. Only Team Tom Tom's Michiel Elijzen has similar power on the flat and we even believe that Yannick can still get better and we think that he can be belong the 5 best engines in the world if he develops as we hope. He will have an incredible value for us as he can get our sprint train a real advantage before the real sprinting starts. Also, he has an Voigt-like Fighting spirit so expect him to surprise with late attacks if our team does not field a strong sprinter (which will not happen often.) | |
| | A very talented German sprinter who just turned professional. Once fully developed he will be a strong last leadout man for any world class sprinter or he can be a solid sprinter himself. | |
Phil Bauhaus (20) | (20) | 69SP |
| | Another talented German Sprinter who will turn into a strong sprinter one day. But just like Willwohl he needs his time to fulfill his potencial. | |
But that is not even everything. We also loaned out 3 further talents.
Mark Dzamastagic | | (23) | 74FL,71SP,74ACC,78FIG |
| | Dzamastagic is another puzzle piece for our future leadout train. Some say that he is similar to Enrico Gasparotto but unlike Gasparotto Dzamastagic likes to attack, too. Pokerstars.com already saw this talent and decided to loan him out for a year as he can help their train already. We hope that he will return even stronger and that he will help our team to promote next year. | |
Michel Koch | (22) | 72MO,69HI,73ACC |
| | The young German was loaned out to RBC Pro Cycling in a loan deal with Boivin. We hope he can learn from the more experienced team mates on a higher level before returning to us in the next year. Once fully developed he will be a very nice German Climber. | |
Indulis Bekmanis | (25) | 69SP, 68HI, 68TT |
| | The Latvian youngster wasn't planned to get loaned out but when we searched for another rider to fill our squad the wage part that Team TomTom is willing to pay for his work was enough to get Bissinger into our squad so we gave him the chance to get experience at another european continental team that has higher ambitions than we have. | |
A complete overview over the squad (now and in future will follow)
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

I like Stoltz' face
baseballlover312, 06-03-14 : "Nuke Moscow...Don't worry Russia, we've got plenty of love to go around your cities"
Sarah Palin, 08-03-14 (CPAC, on Russian aggression) : "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a nuke is a good guy with a nuke"
Big thanks to jdog for making this AMAZING userbar!

I still regret not going for Stoltz when I saw him.

@Jesleyh: Then I have to be thankful to you for allowing me to get him. On the other hand you have Elijzen as flat engine, too. So you would not necessary need another one. I know about the few race days though.

Our calender has been updated. Short summary: 0 HC races. 0 C1 races. We are going the small way all along. Check out the full calender (either in the spoiler above or on the first page) to see where you can see our squad in action.

We promised you an overview of our team that should be capable of end up as upper midcard.
Our main goal is the promotion at the end of the 2015 season. We think we already have the core to achieve it. Here is the first preview of our 2015 squad:
But some changes will be made at the next transfer season: Eloy Teruel will has to move to another team and some further riders especially Saramotins could be out when a decent offer comes.
Also some of our talents like Dzamastagic, Koch or Hansen are likely to be loaned out to develop to a higher level.
This will mean we will have some space in our squad to bring in one or two new leaders and more good riders to get some better depth into the squad.
As our talents will have more space for developing we want to give you an overview of how good our talents are once they are completely maxed out:
Note: As said above some of these riders will not ride for us for a long period.

That'll be one strong squad in a few years - nearly as strong as mine
I highly doubt Stoltz will reach 87 fighter though...

@ Stromeon : I know but perhaps the rules are changing and it will be allowed before he gets maxed out. I would accept it though if i could spend the two extra points on another stat
But wait: "as strong as mine" ? You surely meant "Alpina is one of the few teams that can nearly compete with Evonik in terms of talent" ?

Really liking your team of course as a fellow German talent squad
Look at us if you want to see where that approach can lead you if you ever need motivation to stick to it
Very familiar look, that maxed-out screenshot is indeed...
If I ever feel the need to add someone to Lander and Bar as high-FL-leadouts for then-probably-lead-sprinter Demare (or start to train Lander himself), Dzamastagic looks ridiculously interesting if he doesn't start demanding sky-high wages.

@ cio93: I am not surprised at all that you like my team as I really like your team, too. And i have to admit that it influenced my team. But don't think you can get Dzamastagic from me if you aren't going to ridiculously overpaying for him.
But you could have good chances to loan him out next year if you want

Great to hear that we were some sort of influence, that's always the biggest form of admiration one can hope for
Well with 27 quality riders not declining for at least another 3 seasons, there might be ways to overpay for specifically desired riders in the future
Though Dzamastagic could probably use a PT loan next season rather than a PCT one (where we'll be), but as soon as we promote, feel free to offer your lvl3 and lvl4 riders.
We should have some spots available.

@cio: You may be right and I doubt that it will hard to find a team for any of my level 4 talents then. But we don't know yet how the Xp gaining system will be next year and perhaps one of the talents can Max out in PCT, too.
And about Dzamastagic: It is not said that I would even accept an overpaying offer

You don't have to tell me that, I've had ridiculously good offers for Daniel, Bongiorno and Nerz this season and declined them nevertheless

Nice talents. Might see you in the CT next year, with a 77MO, 77HIL and 77 SPR... All from Ukraine
And that's without possibly keeping some other strong riders on low-ish wages like Vanoverschelde, Vaitkus and Efimkin. If I relegate, good luck!

@ fjhoeckie: If you would relegate you might be in cap trouble. I may accept to take Greipel or a rider from Lithuania from you. Just to help you of course
But i don't think i have to fear Polivoda while the other two would surely be a good start for a CT team and the rest of your existing team is not bad either (for CT )

Oh I did my calculations, and with dropping some riders I should even have some extra cap to waste on another rider
About Polivoda, you'd better fear him. Last year he was one of the best sprinters in the CT, beating the likes of riders like Lay and Chicchi quite often. And eventough my super lead-out Lima can't race C2 races, Cardoso and Nikolaev should also be just fine
And I don't need help!

@ fjhoeckie: I would really, really like to help you
And Polivoda is surely a nice rider as he can go over the hills, too. But i will not care about the completely easy stages where his sprint stat will make him stronger than my sprinters but on the stages i prefer the 7pts difference in HI to Geschke will hopefully be enough for Geschke to take the win ahead of Polivoda. I more fear the type of riders like Bole

@fjohk - Wouldn't brag about beating Chicchi. He won one race all season and was beaten slightly too many times by his "leadout". And just lookout for Soupe and Ewan next season
