@smowz: This is the plan. But there aren`t a lot of real puncheur stages this Tour. So it was basically due to the French Nationality but I admit, that his fighting spirit and good all around stats gave me some hope while planning.
@count: Indeed. I wanted to give him one GT as all my talents I think. And with a TTT this was the most suitable with Keizer as leader. In the long term this is a good deal for me, short term you won as you have the better TTT squad right now and it was nice to see it worked out for you in the Tour de Suisse. |

Tour de France
The biggest race all season is finished. The Tour de France wasn`t expected to be our best scoring goal and neither it was in the end, but our team was motivated and showed themselves nicely on several stages.
Outstanding result for our team was the 16th GC by Martin Keizer, who indeed delivered us the 3rd GT Top20 in our PT debut season. We knew that a single top10 GC in any of the GT`s was almost impossible. So we always put in a nice fight to go for the places just outside.
Keizer had a good first week and was within the top10 after less difficult part. In the mountains he quickly lost contact and found himself in a safe top20 spot, where he was fighting with Monsalve (Volkswagen), Marquez (Quickstep) or König (Becherovka).
Unfortunately we were not able to grab a stage win even though our squad was build around riders like Roux or Boom, who were supposed to join the breakaway often. Unfortunately though they were either in the wrong breakaway and finished off the podium or weren`t allowed to go by the peloton.
Boom though presented himself nicely by getting the KoM jersey for one day after a great ride on the 8th stage. In the end he collected enough KoM points to get a shared 3rd in that ranking.
Last but not least we need to mention young German Thomas Koep, who was our 4th finisher of the Tour. He was Keizer`s domestique in the mountains and did a fine job there.
Our riders Nizzolo, Frison, Dumoulin and Schädlich unfortunately had to give up the race due to the time limit but were of great help before.
Tour of Norway
Disappointing tour or as hoped? Hard to tell here really. While Roux as 14th and Sanchez Gil as 22nd reached the areas, where we had hoped prerace, the race itself was clearly disappointing. First had a nice race gaining a bit of time early on to stay ahead of the next group of similar strong riders. Second was not able to continue as he did in the early season and did not even try to attack for a GC jump. So staying behind weaker riders or even sprinters in the GC is not satisfying.
To stay in the PT we surely need another great performance by one of our riders in the next races.
Guardini was doing nicely in this race with one top5 in the sprint finishes. This gives us some hope for the upcoming GP Moscow, where we hope to get at least a little bit something out of the race.
Races to look out for in the upcoming weeks:
GP Moscow - Nizzolo, Krieger, Ballan
Vuelta a Colombia - Keizer, Guardini, Vanmarcke

Press Announcement: Rothaus to step down
It has been rumoured on twitter already, but it`s now officially announced. The team`s main sponsor Rothaus is going to step down not signing an extension.
It was 3 successful years with the promotion to the Pro Tour before this season and it was always a good cooperation between the team and sponsors.
It`s not clear yet, what this will mean for the team itself. A reduction in the team budget is expected even though the GM of Aegon already claimed interest to stay as sponsor in a similar way as the last two seasons. This would mean another sponsor has to be found within the next few weeks.
This might also mean that the team, which was based in Germany for the last 3 years is changing their focus a bit.

It is sad to see Rothaus go but it's always interesting to see who comes next Possibly a non-German sponsor i'm guessing seeing as the team has very few German riders and the last paragraph suggest your leaning that way could be very interesting to see a second dutch sponsor to go with Alex or possibly another Belgian team considering how good Vanmarcke could be with training, though i'm sure Bewley, Zepuntke and co will have something to have about that. |

Don`t ever think about having Germany on your own.
There will always be like 5 teams going for German riders. Neither would I ever think about letting my self developed German talents go.
Krieger, Koep, Schachmann for the win.

Interesting news, guess we will see a lot of "oldie teams" going for some changes! The question of a new focus is of course the most thrilling. I do know your love for those Kiwis (look at the gif again)

Well I see, Spain seems like to be an obvious choice.

Interesting info from Rothaus team, i am a big fan of your beer producing sponsor and especially its cubistic arts with beer lady, i will miss it.
As long as you go west, we are still friends.

Actually nothing has really changed yet. Aegon was my sponsor last year as well. Since I was in the Man Game, I was always half Dutch anyway.
Also Aegon might be Dutch, but it`s operating world wide, which was one reason, why I decided to add them 2 years ago.
I just thought that with Keizer, Boom, Olivier, Dumoulin I have a far better core than Krieger, Thurau, Schachmann can ever be. So Aegon is taking over from Rothaus making it officially a Dutch team. But this is not really making any change (so far at least).
