2015 Sponsorship Announcement: Part 1
It's been a successful season so far for the current La Vie Claire team, which has ensconced itself in the promotion fight. While the team has a French core, it is Sri Lankan registered and the success it has achieved has lead to a great deal of interest back on the island. The 3 Sri Lankan riders have impressed with their breakaway appearances and teamwork, while the team has promoted Sri Lanka effectively internationally.
This success has resulted in the position we are in today, ready to announce a major sponsorship package from Sri Lanka. A group of companies from Sri Lanka have come together to provide sponsorship under the guise of what is currently to be known as the Ayubowan Cycling Project - although that name may change.
All 4 companies featuring have vested interests in promoting Sri Lanka to the outside world. Firstly, Aitken Spence have interests in hotels and travel amongst diverse other interests such as power generation and printing. Also onboard are the national carrier Sri Lankan Airlines who are looking to increase their international brand presence. Last but not least, Lanka Bell are on of the country's premier communication providers while Hatton National Bank are a Sri Lankan bank rapidly expanding all over the world.
However, this is not all. A French sponsor has been signed and will be announced during Le Tour de France. The aforementioned sponsor has links to Sri Lanka and some of the previous sponsors but I can't say more currently. As for how this will effect team structure I can confirm we intend to have only French and Sri Lankan riders next season. That's all from me, any questions? |

In the sense that I'm going to be selling people who you want or because it keeps me away from talents? |

Well sadly the talent thing has to stop for me next season, so rather #1.

Haussler was the first name that came to my mind... but at the right time could be that we'll talk

I'll cross my fingers that a shitloads of Sri Lankan talents will be free from next season, so I won't have another competitor for the french talents

@cio: I'm intrigued.
@fintas: I'll bear that in mind when we get to transfers
@SotD: You already have Lecuisinier, Koretzky, Pichon, Gougeard, Le Gac, Paillot and Coquard. I have Petit, Bagot and Elissonde. It's only fair we share

True... Share those 3 with me, and we'll be fine

I can share Alaphilippe with one of you, depends who will be more of a good boy.
Anyway, interesting announcement mate, you are really having a very nice season so far, so agreements with sponsors have to be much more fluent than in our case.

My mom used to tell me that I was a good boy
Alaphilippe would suit our sprint train and hilly setup absolutely perfect

Obviously.
It would be a surprise either way if there were no transfer talks between us at all, so I look forward to them as always.
Oh, and as you wanted us to ask questions, will that pure two-nationalities approach happen regardless of the division you'll be in?

Obviously come transfers we'll be talking again. New sponsors look interesting and of course i'm a fan of the "smaller nation" approach in combination with the established power, can't think why though

Seeing as I hope and expect we'll be PCT, then the approach will apply. Hopefully in the PT as well, but at the moment it wouldn't end well being purely Franco-Lankan. |

After seeing what has happened in recent seasons to teams without top class leaders when promoting, I don't want to spend a season as pack fodder. Plus if I'm PCT I don't have the loan cap problem with talents. |

I don't like possibly making this promotion thing a fight between me and you next season, but I see where you are coming from.

Will be very interesting to see if you can get the quality needed to promote from 2 nations in just one season though it could be perfectly possible, on paper I wonder if you may hit a few walls on the way (festina, Bouygues, Red Bull etc..) |

The riders I'm aiming for aren't good enough to be top riders in the PT, but would be very strong in the PCT. Promotion isn't really the aim anyway, just being consistently in the top 10 for a few seasons is what I want. And then, if we end up PT hopefully we'll have some talents maxed and some trained leaders. |
