Team goes completely beside the race

For the first time cobbles appears on our calendar, and as expected this race was a total disaster for the team. With no rider able to do well in this type of terrain, just a break could save the team, unfortunately this did not happen and for the first time this season pulled off a race without any point. At the end would eventually be Van Hummel to celebrate the victory, and Allan Davis was our best man finishing in 34th position.

Tour of Japan
Tour of Japan will be our next race. It is difficult to predict without knowing who will be present, but with Kupfernagel and Gerdemann we hope to get good results. The stage 2 seems too difficult to Kupfernagel might make a difference, but in stage 6 has strong chances to get the win, Gerdemann will make his second race of the year and after the brilliant performance in Ukraine the expectations are high and the top 10 is the minimum required but for this stage 5 seems crucial.

Tour of Japan comes to an end, with goals met by the team.
A race that would be won by Saggiorato, thanks to a break in stage 3 that would eventually have major consequences in the general classification. As expected Kupfernagel fought for the victory in stage 2 and 6 being undermined by the lack of a true launcher but still end in the top10 of these stages. Gerdemann always been in the fight for the top 10 overall, eventually finishing in 8th place

3 races to finish the month
Sibiu Tour

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/sibiu_cycling_tour.png

After Japan the team travels to Romania, where the objectives are identical to the Japanese race. This time Marcel Barth will fight for the first and the last stage, victory will be almost impossible but the top10 of the stage is within reach. For the GC the hopes of the team fall again in Linus Gerdemann. Able to do well in either type of terrain of this race, Gerdemann may very well end once again in the top10.

Cartago - Irazu

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/cartago_irazu.jpg

At the same time it takes to race in Romania our team is in Costa Rica to compete in a very tough race. A mountain classic and of course our leader will be our main hope for a good result. Karpets will try to fight for the top 5, but without knowing what his opponents will be is hard to predict, so the top10 also will eventually not be a bad result. To help in this task by his side will have some of our best climbers.

The last race of the month will take place in our country which will run a classic and there our leader could only be McEvoy. Unfortunately the profile of the race is not what is most suitable for McEvoy therefore the objectives for this race are very low. Whatever is above the top20 it will be too good for the team. Last season managed to finish on the podium but the race was lower category by that competition was much lower.

Should be decent races for you. Sibiu looks like a great little race for Gerdemann and the best climbers will most likely all be Irazu for the classic making it better for Linus.

I really don't mind if all the big guns are in Costa Rica, because it opens opportunities to get a better result in Sibiu. But the truth is that I also have no great expectations, this season has far exceeded what I was waiting. The relegation seems avoided therefore the objective now is to finish in the top15 of PCT and so I think do not need big wins. Should be sufficient go conquering points regularly as I have done so far

Sibiu Tour

The team met almost completely the proposed objectives for this race. The competition was higher than expected and this has made the task more difficult for the team. But in the end Linus Gerdemann has achieved the two top10 of stage that the team was proposed and failed the top10 overall by just 2 seconds.

Meanwhile in Costa Rica things did not go so well for the team. Karpets was one of the clear candidates for the top 10 and even some chances to finish in the top 5. Unfortunately had a bad day and end up just outside the top10 which allied to a poor rendering of the rest of the team made this a bad race for us.

McEvoy attacks but it is too late

Yesterday ran the last race of the month for the team, "playing at home" had hopes that the team excels itself, and achieve a good result. Unfortunately it was very difficult by the presence of some of the best cyclists in this type of terrain. The hope falls to the presence in the break of the day, unfortunately that did not happen and all the responsibility fell on McEvoy which in the end was not able to be with the best, finishing just in 20th position.

It's a shame Mcevoy played dumb in your home race as I feel he could of made the top 10 given his strength in towing his group at the end

To tell the truth did not expect much more than that, throughout the season McEvoy has been unable to be among the best in races like this.
The only thing that left me disappointed is that not having a favorite to win my team still decide to do nothing and stay just to see others

May comes to an end and with it a new ranking update

For the first time since the beginning of the season our team falls out of top 10, that was already something expected and so it is not too worrying. The last two months have been painful for the team, especially in May where we only get 5 PPRD. GP Onda-Boavista and Cartago - Irazu were clearly two horrific races for us where hardly won any points.

But not everything is bad, because the forecasts indicate that the team finished in the top15 in the end of the season. And that is our goal, but we can not go back to have a month as of May. It is expected that the team finished in 12th place but with only a slight advantage to the 15th ranked so it takes a bit of caution

The month of June has not started in the best way, the team moved to France where the two initial stages have been disastrous for us. Karpets was unable to follow the best and end up losing too much time. In the last two stages he did everything to recover some of that time but it was too late and it was impossible to reach the top20.

Craft and zipp stop sponsoring the team at end of season

We are here to announce that the companies, Craft and Zipp stopped sponsoring our team at the end of this season. Although for different reasons, was reached an agreement with both for termination of the contract that bound both sides.
The team is extremely grateful to Craft, by these two years working with the team. But despite the excellent work of this company it was decided that a Portuguese or German company would be chosen for the next few seasons. It is not ruled out a new connection with the Craft in the future, only this was the ideal time for attracting another type of investments.
With respect to Zipp is a completely different situation. The management team did not like to see this company advertised connection with the Boeing team-Bulgaria Bicycling for next season. The team feels betrayed when viewing a sponsor announce a deal with a rival team before it has had a talk with us. It was decided to terminate the contract with this company for breach of the agreement made.
It is possible to announce that we have already reached agreements with new sponsors, to replace these two companies, as was also reached an agreement with a new sponsor coming thereby strengthen further the investment of the team. The three will be announced soon at an event which will also serve for the presentation of new equipment for the next season

Good performance in Eritrea

Tour of Eritrea

Gerdemann gives everything to climb several places in GC

Tour of Eritrea started with a flat stage and Davis was our man, although well placed in the final part of the stage could not repeat the victory of last season. Eventually finishing the stage in 5th position all members of the team would eventually finish with the same time.
In the second stage appeared to the mountain, which would eventually cause havoc in the team. Gerdemann was unable to be with the best and would lose 2'30 minutes ending in 23th.
Seemed that this would be one more bad race for the team, but everything would change much due to the strong wind that was felt in 3rd stage. The proper positioning of the team would eventually bear fruit with several cyclists rise in general.
The last stage had some difficulties near the end and was the last opportunity to make differences. Indeed it would be difficult, that this stage goes better for the team Paulinho took part of the break that would eventually discuss the win paulinho was not gone beyond the 2nd place. But even better was Gerdemann, who with an excellent attack near the end managed to gain time to various cyclists. Finished in 4th place of the stage and eventually climb 8 places in GC. Also Sousa anda Azanza have achieved prominent places.
In the end what seemed to be just another race, eventually became a good race for the whole team.

With the season approaching the end comes time to make a small balance relative to our goals. In fact there is not much to say before this scenario, the failures in Monterrey and the Isle of Man were expected, after failing to hire some of the intended cyclists to attack these objectives.
But failing the objectives in the Tour Down Under and the Volta a Portugal was a real disappointment. McEvoy It was not very far from achieving the top10 in Australia but as was the case in the rest of the season his performance was slightly below expectations. In what concerns the Volta a Portugal the history is completely different, Karpets was never able to be among the best and from day one it was possible to see that this would be a failed goal. In fact this was even the worst race of the year for our team so far.
All these failures have complicated our ultimate goal of the season, although that remains open is therefore very difficult to achieve. On top of the last few races have not gone the best way for us and until the end of the season will be difficult recover lost ground in recent months

Volta a Portugal was really unlucky for Kärcher with Karpets probably not in a good shape during those 11 days, i know that feeling when aging leader is just rolling in somewhere around 20th from different races this year.
I'll be back
