Well it looks like the final TT will not be very selective as most of the top 10 in the GC after stage 6 are all decent tt guys with the Plaza and Kritskiy both strong tt'ers.
AMEX's punchuer Sylvan Chavanel has pushed his way into 10th on the GC standings and if he can withstand the climbs on the final mountain stage he could keep his top ten slot till the end.
But the problem could become for the less good TT`ers.
Caruso for example needs to have a selective mountain stage as this is the only chance to avoid being beaten by weaker climbers as Costa/Reus in the TT.
This is a problem, that time trials normally have realistic gaps, while mountains or hills not always.
I will try to play the next stage today or tomorrow. Report to follow afterwards. Not 100% guaranteed though. |

A bad day for us, something that was already waiting. Now we expect to be able to make differences in the mountain or else we will not get anywhere.

Awesome stage for us. Really nice surprise with Wang on the podium!

Agreed, I think it's great to have roturn reporting this one. this being one of the bastions of the PCT calendar.
Another great stage this was. Lots of action between the pack and the break. Congrats to airbaltic.
Again it's great to see Plaza in such an overwhelming shape. It's only a shame we've lowered our standards and allowed ourselves to finish outside the top2 in the stage

Our closest opponents are scoring very well here. But Reus is doing what he has to, so a top 10 could salvage some. Just a minute to the leader so all is still open. If he can limit his losses on the next mountain stage the TT could bring us some much needed relief.

Thanks for all the comments for my reports. It`s good to know.
Also it`s nice to see Villella winning here. If I remember correct, this is already his 2nd stage win this season. So I am looking forward to have him in my team next season. Should become a solid puncheur, who apparently loves attacking. |

I was already afraid this would be for the break. Too bad our team didn't help out in the chase. Should have done that really.

Hm, that was not surprising and out of the blue at all. To bad they caught up a bit at the end. Would be great with Wellens in the lead. |

Good work from Amaro Antunes to conquer a podium in this race, shame not getting the win ... The leadership in the team classification is a pleasant surprise, did not expect this time to be in the lead, shame it is pretty impossible to keep it until the end of the race.

A stage for the escapees. It was meant to be, with so many borderline flat/hilly stages on the menu.

In case nobody has noticed. Stage 8 is up since this morning.
Stage 9 is played, but won`t be at home tonight, so report will come tomorrow. |

The end of this sprint stage (#8) was like so many this season. AMEX gets their sprint train in position the final lead out man hammers down and Kupfernagel has not legs left.
Kupfernagel has been a major bust for AMEX this season. We signed him as our #1 sprinter and he has not produced. It has been brutal to watch race after race the same thing. We get him to the finish and in decent position then he gives us nothing back.
Chavanel has been our lone hope for this race. After 8 stages he still holds 10th place in the GC. Many good tt guys are already in the top ten it is very unlikely he will move up but he should hold his own spot.
Our only hope for a turn around will be the long four American races and two Canadian races left on the schedule.

I feel your frustration. A team that is mainly based on a few sprinters should expect a bit more in those sprints in general.
This race might not be suited very well, but in other races you had lots of bad sprints. Just like I had with Vantomme last season. So you can only hope that Kupfernagel might have a breakthrough year next season. |

perfectly normal stage, almost a stage of transition ... Now finally comes the decisive day for our team, we need big difference to compensate natural losses in the TT.

There's a typo in the report saying 7'30 at 10 km. My heart almost stopped as I thought the break owuld take it again. But luckily they didn't and Gavazzi was there to pounce. Great day for us with 1-3-6. The train is there, next season will see a top sprinter arriving, as long as we don't relegate.

We need difference in the mountains so Vrecer can climb into the top 10. |

All in favor of skipping stage 9 say I. I!
At least Costa will be looking good in green while he is falling off the back of the favourites group.
PS. That typo scared me too.
