I don't understand what Contador has to do with this, by this logic Armstrong won 7 Tours

But is not the rumour that Santambrogio's B sample has come back negative? If that is the case then it's not like Contadors case as both his A+B came back as positive. Still don't buy that Santambrogio's B sample came back negative

Armstrong did win 7 Tours, and Contador won 3 Tours... Even Landis has won a Tour... If you cross the line in 1st place you win, everything else doesn't really matter...
and seriously, Santambrogio cannot be let off... oh wait it's Italy. If it were Spain he would probably be given monetary compensation, a pat on the back and his blood back

Your problem is that you are comparing two different things. The maximum allowable level of Clenbuterol is 0. Absolutely 0.
The maximum allowable level of EPO in the system is not 0 (I don't know the exact number, someone else may be able to fill that in for me) but slightly above that due to (I believe) the difficulty of being able to find such trace amounts of it. As this source states:
https://www.velona...r-EPO.aspx
"The newspaper reports that the B sample analysis has shown only small traces of EPO, less than is needed to conclusively prove doping."
So Santambrogio, by the WADA code, is not guilty of doping. Contador, by the same WADA code, is guilty. The two cases cannot be compared at all.

Stupid thing to say. What his this to do with the fact that there isn't enough epo in his B-sample? |

Because any morally sound federation would ignore it and ban the dumb twat... Italy hardly being a stand out nation in the doping stakes

It are the rules. They can't simply break the rules.

And then he would be able to take them to CAS and they would have to pay court fees, in addition to losing any shred of credibility they have. Whether he is actually doping or not, legally speaking he is considered to be clean.

Well no Manx that ain't how it works, Armstrong had his titles stripped as Landis had his revoked aswell. Just because you cross the line 1st does not mean you win if it is found out that you have cheated unless we have a different interpretation of what winning means

@strydz
Well then who won the 99-05 Tours? They happened, so there must be a winner. And for me it is Lance. Yes he doped, but so did those he beat, which for me and many others, still makes him a 7 time winner.
And for me, also, there is a difference between winning and being the "winner". Winning is crossing the line first, which Landis did do. He won the Tour. Pereiro finished 2nd. The fact Landis doped and was caught doesn't change that.
Unless all caught riders are stripped of their placings i, and others, will never see those promoted as the winners.
So yes, it is down to your interpretation of winning.
@Count
Yes i get why they will not, but they should

Yeah Manx I get that argument but it just pisses me off that's all, but I'm sure it does the same more most of us floating around this forum...

Portugal for the Worlds
Rui Costa (MOV)
Nelson Oliveira (RLT)
Tiago Machado (RLT)
Andre Cardoso (CJR)
Jose Mendes (TNE)
Sergio Paulinho (TST)
Decent support for Costa, glad to see Mendes got rewarded with a place, has been really consistent this year,

Alak, that's only the pre-selection. By the end, probably apart from Costa, it will Mendes and/or Paulinho/Cardoso. |

Should we have a pre-WC thread where we can discuss team selections? A lot of them have been rolling in over the past few days.

I see now, yes. Well, I hope Machado doesnt get the spot, doesn't deserve it. Paulinho for sure, great dometique. Then either Cardoso / Mendes for last spot I guess.
