I thought Kump was from Somalia. Same country, no?
I just read an interesting column about the lack of popularity the Eneco Tour seems to have (mostly referring to in the Netherlands, but still applicable in general). The conclusion was that Eneco really isn't any more special than the tours of Denmark or Britain.
I thought about it, and I think they could really make the race a lot more interesting by changing the route, making it almost the 'northern classics' stage race.
Example:
1. Technical Prologue
2. Sprinter's stage with tricky finish (false flat/turns/uphill
3. Cobbles stage in East-Flanders with sprint finish (mini e3)
4. Cobbles/Hellingen stage (mini rvv)
5. Echelon stage like today
6. Queens stage in Ardennes (mini LBL/AGR)
7. Hilly (team?) time trial over 2012 WC course.
It's a good idea but it's hard to get all the top people this time of season.

Exactly. Not many of the cobble specialists are in form at this time of year and, if they are, they are usually doing domestique duty for their GC riders.
Did Roelandts even notice that Greipel didn't follow? He should've stopped pulling so hard to either let Greipel come back or to save energy to sprint for mimself.
And the best part about Stybar winning are his post-race interviews in "Czutch" (Czech Dutch).

What do you guys think?
It's OK. We need some crap races in the WT otherwise the Tour of Beijing would feel alone.

Doesn't the Champions League of Cycling count for a crap race?

I believe it has been said before, but that refers to the World Tour, not just Tour de Pologne. Also, I'd say it's better than Tour Down Under, at least.

True. Tough, there's a buch of lower category races (eg, Strade Bianche) who may deserve a shot at WT but we prefer to go to China. Would prefer to have Beijing as a 2.HC race.
I think it's great to have stage races without mountains.
Down Under is the only other one and that is getting tougher and tougher every year aswell. I don't see why 70+ kg guys shouldn't have the chance to win WT stage races.

China is where all the money is, isn't it?

That, plus any exotic country getting a race promoted into WT is that many votes for McQuaid come the time of elections.

impressive jump from Boom, he definately had to do the most effort to close that gap.. Too bad he also started the sprint too early afterwards, but maybe the peloton would've come back if he didn't.
Clever riding to snatch the win (also thanks to his partners in group ofc), he seems really back in form after the knee surgery and four months break. Cant wait for his Vuelta.
