Nice to see Spilak able to hang on to the group of favourites. If he's going to climb to a top five in the overall the hilly stage 5 will be crucial. He probably needs to gap most other great climbers there to grab a top 5 overall. Hopefully he can make use of his great hill stat.
Pluchkin looks good for the overall now, and B&O needs him to deliver, consider how unlucky their captains in other races are. I think only Schleck can challenge him for the overall win now. |

Perfectly executed! Letting the other teams do the hard work, catching the breakaway just in time to take the right wheel, jump and win by 3 bike lengths! Awesome!
Lars Croket is hugely dissapointing I think. Last season he would have been doing top 5s in a competition like this.
I can't wait to see which sprinters are in the Vuelta, because if it is anything like this I can see Guerao taking a few sprint victories there! Is anyone interested in lifting the lid off and tell who they brought as a sprinter for the Vuelta?

I'd kindly like to remind you how awful he was for me most of the last season, bar Faso.

Ahh alright. I probably saw nothing but Faso
But still, looking at the competition he should easily top 10 here.
EDIT:
I have no idea what Bennati is looking like, and the three riders you have listed doesn't have a name - But since none of them have listed Vuelta a España I guess it's safe to say that he isn't there
Then there's only 10 others to look out for

His signature move was to start the sprint from 2k out
Oh come on, there's one guy in a Radioshack jersey, one guy in a Saxo jersey, and one guy in a Lotto jersey.

Yeah, and he rode for both Radioshack and Saxo, right?

I have limited knowledge on sprinters fairly talented in 2005, and then heavily downgrading to become a decent prologue rider, and a horrible sprinter yes

I was just joking, Bennatis face is pretty good to recognize, now you know it.
Anyway what matter most, is great second win in the row for Guerao, congrats for that!

I know I know - So was I
Thanks mate! It's really nice to see that the training is infact paying off. I'm sure he would have struggled to win the sprints without the training and there is still one more good flat stage to go.

Decent stuff from Vanoverschelde. Though, he looked fast at the end, and would probably have made the podium if he started his sprint a bit earlier. Now it's time for the crucial stage for Spilak. Really looking forward to the report, and hopefully Spilak is up for it. His overall placing will be decided by the hilly stage coming, I think. If he does well, a top 5 is definitely possible.
Fingers crossed!
And this could be a great race for Festina, if Contador decides to go for it in the mountains. He's not quite a climber like Schleck and Pluchkin, but a podium could be expected. Anyway, congratulations on the two stage wins so far!

stage 3: really pleased Rujano could fight with best riders and even took podium
stage 4: Holloway has to learn a lot yet, first early kick and now too late one....still 2nd place is way better than 4th

Dammit, so close for Roche to win and in the end Marchante lost quite some time. I hope for more aggressive racing from those two, but it would be nice if they could both attack on stage 6.

Arg. A shame it seems quite impossible to gap the others when the stage or race finishes with a downhill in PCM12. It looks like it always comes together on the run in. Spilak looked strong enough to move up in the overall standings there.
Now it will be tough to stay 7th in the GC. Sella and Rujano will be the riders to watch on stage trying to defend that 7th place.
Congrats to 1t4i, brilliant 1-3. Will be interesting to see how Velits will do on the next stage. |

It depends. 1-3 riders often can`t defend their gap ahead of a bigger group. A bigger group normally defends it like the two bigger groups on this stage.
And sorry to Bacardi. Intxausti with a horrible day here. The low hill stat surely was one reason. |

It´s still looking quite promising, hopefully queen stage won´t ruin all my hopes.

Not good. Despite the good fighter stat, VDB just doesn‘t attack in this race. Even worse as he actually has a good sprint.
I won‘t like the next rankings update, that‘s for sure.

5th for Andy on the hill stage is good, but not liking the time bonus for Pluchkin. Podium seems like it should be the main target for him on the summit finish, and then see what comes from there
I dont miss the constant worry of Intxausti trying to get through hill stages, but its unlucky indeed that he would lose that much
