4th, 5th, 6th and 8th, WTF? Too bad that Bole couldn't prevent Flügel to pick the bonus seconds, but it's a good result nonetheless. And good to see Hansen in a breakaway again, although he seems to be our only rider to ever be there.
Congrats Alakagom, great result.

I really hope that Bellis can stay with the best on the next two stages. If so then he might have an advantage in the sprint on the 6th I think to get a few more bonus seconds.
But -4 hill points to some is quite a lot...

Just awful. I didn't have high hopes, but even this is below my expectations.

Still nothing to cheer for, 20th overall for Barrio is alright for a HC race but I wish he could do a little bit better. Starting with not getting caught out of the peloton due to bad positioning.

Not a great stage for me, but it could have easily been a lot worse. With that I should be good enough to stay in the top 15 and maybe get lucky and push for a top 10.

What a epic win by Roche, excellent job by him and the team to avoid those splits!
I hope he can manage a podium overall now, since I believe the next stage suits him quite well... Bellis will be tough to beat though.
Great reporting mb2612, will be waiting anxiously for the final stages

Urgh Gautier lost so much time in that final lap! Ah well top 6 or 7 was pretty much my hope anyway and he is on track there.

Finally something to cheer about for us. Girdlestone made a excellent showing at his home race, and finishing 13th means he have a good chance to bring us some points from his GC-ranking.
Looking forward to the two last stages. Luckily Lo Cicero finished inside the time limit, so maybe he can do something on the last stage if the pace is kept reaaaally slow over the two mountains?
Great reporting mb! |

Sorry to say that I gave up on reading once I saw that the roads were narrow 1 spline width. Cant believe you would make a stage with them mb, they are horrible for gameplay.
Race ruined. And Id be saying that even if Froome had won.

Yeah, the gameplay and how the stage looked was bad indeed, but in the end, we can barely see more realistic results than from this stage. Tough hilly stage resulted in best ten punchers at first ten places, with reasonable gaps (2 minutes from 1st to 10th). Usually without narrow roads, the group of 10 could easily finish at same time ot within 30 seconds, making it much more boring. But yeah, those splits were stupid...
But what a brave racing from Nolan Hoffman, he is our hero, holding on top 20 in GC, where he is together with Pakthusov, who was aggresive, but was probably empty after it. Now survive the next stage, Pakthusov can attack maybe and then the last stage with high hopes for our Hoffman again.

You scared the shit out of me, but in the end a really good result for us I hope Flügel can use his downhilling skills on the next stage, and maybe we can send Kessler out in the middle of the stage to put pressure on the other teams

Sorry, I thought it would be fine, when I tested the stage it was fine.
And the overall race result was absolutely fine.

Theres nothing fine about screwing up a HC race with narrow roads because you dont know how to make stages properly.
It is no coincidence that the riders who did best at the end - Roche, Bellis, Gautier until the final lap - were the ones who avoided the initial narrow road 'massacre' of team leaders being dropped due to the rider blocking nature of PCM.
Instead of a proper race, we get a lottery. The strongest riders are always roughly going to be towards the front (Except Dowsett, the joint 6th best rider on hill stat in the race, finishing 30th) - but that does not make it fine that the queen stage of one of the biggest races for PCT puncheurs was designed to be unfair, and turned out to be the case.
The luck associated with daily form, punctures or crashes goes with the game. Luck forced unnecessarily by the stage maker is unacceptable.

Can`t be unhappy with Bellis in 2nd. A bit unhappy with Ruijgh, Kunitski and Iglinski losing that much to deliver more GC points.
Tomorrows stage will be tough as I think the long climb won`t really suit Bellis. Don`t know the hill/mountain ratio.
And I really hope tomorrows stage won`t lead to more splits due to narrow roads. Have to agree with SN here. Since PCM11 and the blocking ability narrow roads shouldn`t be used. In especially not on climbing parts. Maximum for cobbled races, but even there it`s probably better to avoid them. |

I think SN has said it all about that with the comment above.

Stage 5 is to be re-played. The stage files will be fixed to remove the narrow roads for both Stage 5, and Stage 7, where again the narrow roads returned for the last categorised climb of the race.
I have already recreated the post Stage 4 save game and sent that to mb.

Sounds fair to me even though Bellis and Roche might obviously lose time to others in the 2nd run. But may the best win.
Still I would be disappointed when I go outside a top 5. |

Its unfortunate for those who benefited from the narrow roads, yes, but ultimately that stage report should never have existed because the file should never have had those narrow roads.
Now the stage will be decided more fairly, with not such a big priority to the random positioning 'skill'.
