Tour Down Under - Discussion

I'm a bit surprised with my team (in a good way), two consecutive days working in front of the race and let good indications 10th-place Mehr Wenige could have been better had it not to pursue alone the fugitives. Now I hope that the next stages the team did not return to work for others as our sprinter does not seem to be able to deal with this competition. It was a great win for Cisco and for Efimkin, will be hard to take his final victory, and our man can still climb higher in the standings ...

Nice riding by Zingle to tie up the KOM and still finish AI the main group in 7th on GC. He might be able to hold on through Willunga from here.

Pity that Feillu couldn't stay in. The game seems to be trying to use him as a puncheur rather than a sprinter.

I thought it was over for him when he got caught behind Mehr-Wenige, but he found his way through perfectly there. Great finish from Taborre too, which is promising ahead of Willunga Hill.

And not to forget - thrilling report, roturn! Smile

Congrats Pelli, i am glad that hills are not our terrain this season, as Efimkin will rock there for sure with few others.

Also great report Roturn, very enjoyable read for my morning cofee ritual. Grin

Edit: Also any more live tweetings today? Smile

Great train from SRAM. Well finished and thoroughly deserved.

5th from Feillu is more what I was looking for! Hopefully the hilly stage has hurt some sprinters and will put them out of contention. I'm looking forward to Stage 4 with the climb towards the end possibly hurting some legs.

This evening, yes.

As for 3rd stage, one more day to forget. The lack of break-appearances is pretty concerning. Next stage won't be better, most probably. So I keep hoping for a decent performance at Willunga Hill Smile

This evening, yes.

I will at least try this evening. Probably next to watching handball. Pfft
Tomorrow morning at about this time I expect to do the more important ticker for Willunga Hill.

Great report as allways Roturn!

I have my day off tomorrow and was planning to sleep until 12 or something, but this made me very unsure Pfft

I can't see anyone else than Efimkin take this one though, especially after his dominant win on stage 2. The only way I can see someone else in yellow after Willunga Hill is after a breakaway. Let's see if Cisco and UPC are willing to cooperate over the next stages to avoid that.

Great win from Haussler, he really did not give a chance to others after the great teamwork, well done SRAM! Smile

I will be sure following the Willunga hill tweets, this evening i have no time to follow. Also nice report Roturn, i like the pictures.
I'll be back

Good to see the best leadout train being rewarded - didnt happen much in PCM11. Plus Hutarovich would have won every time in PCM11 too.

And also nice to see Bennett involve himself in the sprint with a first Top 10

Great victory for Haussler and Sram.. This was too easy for them, once again Van Loocke disappointed to not be able to discuss whatever it is ... This is not good, but at least my team decided not to work today which is good because we are facing the decision of the race and Mehr-Wenige will need all the help possible.

Agree. Sprint trains work far better in PCM12. At least if the lead-out are powerful and Eichler-Wegmann-Keisse surely are.
Negative example were seen in the Classic with Iglinski-Cucinotta. Wink

Possibly, but we never found that out since Cucinotta crashed.

Welcome to the world of managers who have had Van Loocke. It is not a happy world.

Unfortunately it was the best we can get to the end of the transfer period ... And who has no dog hunting with cat

6th for Gavazzi. Today was clearly too easy. Stage 4 will be harder again, so fingers crossed for more bonus seconds. Lost the green jersey, but if we can wear the yellow for 5 (or 6?) days that's fine too.

Stage #3 was boring unless you were in the final sprint - which AMEXpc's young sprinters were not able to accomplish.

The good news is that all three of our punchuers are still just +0'20. Stage #4 promises to be a repeat of stage #3 unless the leaders allow a break away to suceed. I doubt that will happen as 40+ riders are in the +0'20 group.

Jan Dieteren continued to ride well. In stage #3 he shadowed Carlos Barredo. Barredo, and Chavanel are in position to move up the standings on Old Willunga Hill.

And that would have been fair of course. Pfft Better performance from my team today, but Haussler was just too strong. Congrats felix.

Hoping for maybe a minor split or something on the final climb. If it's raced hard there should be some sprinters getting dropped.
