I'll second beagle on that one! Hopefully it'll be a battle between Rujano and Alarcon, though, Vasquez could surprise, if he decides to attack early. |

AMEX Pro Cycling is vey proud to announce our 2nd National Champion.
24 year old Maher Hasnaoui is the new National Road Race Champion of Quatar in an upset victory. This is a great capping of a stellar 1st professional season. Starting the season as a raw rookie (lvl1/00) he has raced strongly earning 54 D2 points, riding as Ryan Eastman's top domestique in the U-23 l'Avenir. He also road on the consolidated D2 team in the tour of Swaziland.
Maher's agent is currently in discussion with AMEX Pro Cycling for a contract for the coming season. Talks are going well. AMEX has told Maher that he will have a ride but the contract will need to wait until AMEX receives their racing license for 2013. |

That's interesting, given that he is from Tunisia

Seeing the hilly profile made me think Rujano would take it, but Alarcon had it all under control when Rujano and Ochoa Quintero decided to not follow his attack.
Nice to have a national champion in the team, that's most likely the only road race of these championships a rider from our team will win. |

I heard from lawyer of Ahmed Albourdainy that he is thinking about taking some legal actions.
Anyway congrats to Hasnaoui,Alarcon and all other winners so far.

Pity that Rujano won´t wear National jersey next year (except of few TTs), but Alarcon was simply stronger during whole season. Congratulations to ember

I hope so. It's the most expected race since Volta a Portugal for me.
My boys better perform accordingly!

For me Ukraine, Switzerland and Spain will come tomorrow.
Spain is the headline attraction from my reports for Friday. Though I am sure there will be plenty of interest in the other two nationals which were pretty neat little races.

I am disappointed that none of my riders got into the break in the Venezuelan champs. Although with a course like that I never really had a chance of winning, considering all my Venezuelan climbers can't do anything in the hills.
Its really good to see quite a few D2 national champions, doing the division proud.

My only real hope left is Logan Hutchings at the TT in New Zealand. Otherwise, I don't really have anything I think...
