Vuelta a Andalucia: Stage 1
As known, this stage is bad in 3D so I simmed it. Here are the results.
Top 10
GC
Very good start to the race for Kroon. He isn't a good TT'er so 7th is way above our expectations for him. This should mean he can get a good result in the race here.

Vuelta a Andalucia: Stage 2
The first stage in Andalucia is flat but there are some small hills on the route. The last 500 metres are very steep so this stage suits punchy sprinters like top favourite Rojas.
Knowing our team had as good as no chance in the sprint, we decided we would send someone in the break. Noval joined 10 others to form today's break of the day.
Two teams decided that they didn't like the escape group and started chasing. Caja Rural did most of the work while the Efapel team from race leader Cardoso helped a little.
These two teams succeed in their chase and with a little more than 5 kms to go, everything is back together. That means the stage will be decided in a bunch sprint.
Caja Rural is having a lot of faith here as they built a leadout-train for their man Galdos. De La Fuente and Ferrari are leading him out while both Kroon and LS Haedo are trying to place themselves at the front.
No surprise why Caja Rural worked so much today as Galdos sprinted away from everyone else on the steep last km to take the win with 17" over the pack. He is also the new leader. Kroon was the best from our team today on a 10th place.
Top 10
GC
We went into the break as planned and in the end, we knew it would be tough to fight for a top place but we can be satisfied with a 10th by Kroon.

Thanks! Kroon started great with two top 10's
Vuelta a Andalucia: Stage 4
The 3rd stage is probably the toughest stage in the Ruta del Sol as the finish is after a 5 km climb, where the overal will probably be decided.
5 riders formed today's break of the day. Their names are Perget (AG2R), Oroz (Euskaltel), Demaret (Cofidis), Carrasco (Andalucia) and Bole (Lampre).
The pace in the peloton is controlled by two teams. Movistar is giving the Caja Rural team from leader Galdos Alonso some help.
Then, disaster strikes. Kroon falls on the slippery roads. Luckily, he isn't injured and can continue but he can't connect back to the pack so he decides to take it easy today.
Entering the last climb, 5kms at 6%, the gap for the break is still over 2'. This means that they have a good chance as Bole and Oroz are both good punchers.
When the favourites started the last hill, one rider put in an enormous burst. Plaza made a ferocious attack creating a good gap. Sorensen is trying to bring him back but is already at the end of his powers.
At the front, first Oroz and later Perget have dropped their companions. Their chances are slim though as Plaza has already reached the other 3 riders and keeps going.
Plaza passed Oroz under the red kite to take the victory and the overal lead. Oroz and Perget completed the podium while the other favourites came in all more then 1' down on Plaza.
Top 10
GC
Kroon's crash was just unlucky. Maybe it wasn't that bad after all as he would never have been able to follow Plaza and he will now probably get a chance to go on the attack in the latter stages.

Vuelta a Andalucia: Stage 5
The 4th stage in Andalucia is not very tough overal but a hill only 7 kms from the finish should make things very intresting. We will certainly try to attack there.
After a weak day yesterday, Nuyens bounces back as he is in the break of the day. Some others at the front are Martinez (Euskaltel), Palomares (Andalucia) and Jeandesbosz (Saur).
Rather surprisingly, two teams pick up the chase in the pack. Why, or for who NSP and Type 1 are chasing still has to be seen though.
Coming over the last hill, Martinez has jumped away from his companions who stil l have a small gap to the pack. Nuyens missed the jump and is desperatly trying to come closer.
Stage 2 winner Galdos Alonso used the hill to jump away from the pack and starts his pursuit of the chasing group.
The chasers couldn't come anything closer to Martinez and the Basque rider takes a nice win. Nuyens just wasn't strong enough to bring him back.
Galdos last 5 kms were amazing as he just passed the chasers to take the 2nd place. Nuyens sprinted too 3rd. Rojas led home the pack in the same time as the chasers.
Top 10
GC
Good try by Nuyens. We can't be unhappy with the 3rd place as Martinez was just too strong. Nuyens just couldn't follow him.

Too bad for Kroon. A third place for Nuyens is still a great result.

Vuelta a Andalucia: Stage 5
The Ruta del Sol ends with a hilly stage. The slopes on the stage aren't very hard though so the differenes won't be very big as they will probably be made on the last very steep kilometre.
LS Haedo is our rider in the break today. He never got a chance for a good result in a sprint so he tries his luck today in a break. Some other riders at the front are Gadret (AG2R), Vigano (Lampre) and Laverde (Colombia).
Knowing this was the last stage where he could show something, Kroon attacked around halfway through and joined the break some time later. He showed some good form before the crash so can he show that today?
Knowing this is the last stage were Astarloza can take time on Plaza, Euskaltel keeps the pace very high at the front of the pack. Haedo does the same in the break though and they can't really come much closer.
Starting the last kilometre, the break still has a good advantage so they will fight for the win. Kroon immediately moves to the front but can he keep up on the percentages over 15%.
He was very strong and nobody could challenge him here so he takes a well deserved win. Salgueiro took second and Laverde completes the podium.
Plaza was again the strongest from the favourites chasing down some of the early escapees. He finishes 1' behind Kroon which means he is the winner of this year's Vuelta a Andalucia.

What a way to bounce back after a crash. Great win for Kroon. This really saved the race for us as we can now say that this was a good race with a stage win.

Every year, the Omloop het Nieuwsblad opens up the classics season in Belgium. It's the first time that the best cobblers in the world can show themselves so look out for Cancellara, Flecha and Ballan. Boonen's Quick-Step team is strangely enough not starting. Nuyens should certainly be able to fight with the best here.
The early break didn't contain any notable cobblers so they formed no threat today. Strangely enough, BMC and Radioshack had someone upfront with Santambrogio and Didier.
While pacing on a cobble section with around 50 kms to go, Morkov and Vinther create an 11-men strong leading group. Cancellara is supported by Roulston and Bennati, Breschel and Boom are the Rabo guys, Flecha has Eisel and Thomas while Kroon is also there for Nuyens.
The break is caught by the favourites group with 35 km to go. The next cobble section sees Flecha and Nuyens riding away from everyone else. Are these the two strongest in this very bad weather?
Cancellara gives everything to come back. He is helped by Scheirlinckx who came back strong, Bennati and Boom. They stay around 1' behing the leaders though.
The rain has really taken his toll on Nuyens and with 15 km to go, after the last serious cobble section, he has to let Flecha go. He still has a gap of over a minute to his chasers.
There, Cancellara has accalerated even more and Scheirlinckx is the last one to get dropped. Can Nuyens hold his advantage over the Switzer?
No. With 5 kms to go, Cancellara reaches Nuyens. He is totally empty and can't even follow the Radioshack rider for 100 metres.
Juan Antonio Flecha has reached the finish line in Ghent and takes a well deserved victory. He was clearly the best in this very bad weather!
One minute behind Cancellara and 2'30 behind Flecha, Nuyens passes the finish line. A great 3rd place after some strong attacking riding.
Top 10
What a tough day for the riders. It rained literally all day. Nuyens did very well and was always at the front. Too bad he was dropped by Flecha and passed by Cancellara but 3th is a great result for him.

Thanks! Was a nice win in Andalucia and Nuyens did great in the Omloop finishing behind Flecha and Cance. Al!so thanks for the banana rico! And dienblad, It was a Geox-story. baia had a Movistar-story ;-)
Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne
Kuurne is the second race during the Belgian 'openingsweekend'. Always seen as a bit less prestigious as the Omloop, that probably has to do with the race being a bit easier. Only a couple of cobble sections halfway the course. The race will probably end in a sprint of a small peloton. Quick-Step and Boonen are here so he is probably the biggest favourite.
The early break again contains nobody who might be any threat on the cobbles. They are clearly just there for the media attention.
During one of the first tough hill's on the harder section, Kroon attacked. The chase behind him started immediately though so he sat up not long after.
Coming over the last cobble section, everyone, except for the early break, are still together. Nobody even tries an attack. Strange racing or is everybody waiting for the sprint?
Minaard (Rabobank CT) is the last of the early break to get caught with a little more than 10 kms to go. The race will clearly be decided in a bunch sprint finish.
Having some faith in Haedo, we decide to set op a leadout train for him. Kroon and Nuyens are working hard for him while Roelandts and Breschil move into our slipstream.
Bennati went early and is leading on the right side of the road. Yesterday's winner Flecha is trying to come out of his wheel while on the left side Breschel and Roelandts are also in sprint mode. Haedo waited a little longer with his kick but is coming on strong now.
Surprise at the finish. Flecha takes the win in a mass sprint. He takes the double this weekend. He must be in the form of his life! Haedo jumped past Breschel in the last hectometres to take a very nice podium spot behind Roelandts.
Top 10
Yesterday's bad weather condition's clearly made everyone very tired as nobody even thought about attacking. The race then ended with a mass sprint but a classic's rider won. We can be very satisfied with a 3rd place for Haedo.

The bigger races are coming up so hope we can get that one there!
January and February Results
No real dominators during the first two months of the season except for Flecha's domination in the cobbled classics.
WT-Ranking
Seeldraeyers won the only WT race so far so it's normal he is leading the ranking. Radioshack had to high finishers Down Under and is leading the team rankings.
CQ-Ranking
Petacchi was dominant in the sprints in both Australia and Calabria and is leading the CQ-ranking so far. Radioshack is also leading the team ranking here.
March Schedule
3 WT stage races and Milano - San Remo are the most important races for us during this month.
