OPQS turning the tables on Movistar. Wonderfully slick TV production, especially liked the absent/random time gaps followed by the 7km to go caption on the heels of the 3km to go caption 2 minutes earlier

And then going under the 4km to go banner
I remember a time (it was not too long ago actually) when races just didn't have a KM to go graphic. Now it's essential.

When there are no time gap captions, what strikes me is how much a potentially random number adds to my excitement and how frustrating it is not having any. I say random as the gaps presented in the run in just then beared little resemblance to what I could count the gap to be using the helicoptor shots.
Time gaps are bad enough, not having a km count down might be like not having mobile phones!

Wiggo did Geraint Thomas style of leadout for Uran, but Uran once again failed to take the win ( he wasn't favourite but had a good chance with that position ). Still waiting for his first victory since 2007. This time he waited too much for the sprint, unlikely he won though anyway.
Alabasini did great today, he was dropped at the climb and caught the group on descent and then won. That's impressive, but doesn't seem to bode well for mountains tomorrow.
Coming to tomorrow's stage it has a chance of being changed with two mountain queen stages taken out due to snow. Nothing confirmed as such, but hopefully the organizers will pull it off.
P.S. Ruben beat me to Albasini part

Dan Martin is my new favorite. With Valverde basically out of the running, I think that he looks like a sure podium. Also, he has the TDF trio of Danielson, Hejsedal, and Vande Velde to back him up. If he had attacked a little earlier, he, Cunego, and Carrara could have stayed away, but he's not a good enough descender.
Can't see Albasini holding on tomorrow. Like Ruben said, he got back in the group on the descent. If the climb was harder for longer and a peek finish, would he have held? I doubt that he will stay on.
The tempo will be high tomorrow. Look for a guy like Martin, Cunego, or even Valverde - stage wins will probably now be his main priority.

So what the hell happened to Van Garderen?! A half hearted attack on the final climb then capitulation, finishing behind Valverde's group over 2 minutes down. I know he's not the best climber but the climb wasn't that tough, I can only imagine he suddenly felt empty after trying the attack...
