Story about your riders! Paris - Nice
AndySchleck
Stage 6

The stage was for some weird reason simulated when I opened the save? Anuways, none of our riders did anything this stage. Cavendish took it.

Miniatas Konovalovas was best of our riders in the GC with a 71st place... Too bad the crash at Willunga ruined everything for Sømme and Rouleur.

GC

1. Petacchi
2. Cavendish
3. Farrar

Summary of the race

Sømmes sprints and Rouleurs late attack were the highlights this race. The crash at Willunga destroyed the hopes for a good GC placement. Miniatas Konovalovas did a great job for Hunter up Willunga, and was our best rider in the GC. Mazlov did not do anything, I did not even see him fetch some bottles of water...

Yeah, you haven't had a single race day yet, but I'm sure it will come soon! As you can see both Bobson and Rouleur had some succes in the latest races so we will see with you!

@Freitas Yeah everybody will have to watch that great talent of a rider. He has no contract for next season so I can see a great amount of offers for him!

Jack Wiles, Vacansoleil

Aristotle Arguelyes, Katusha

Preview

The young british hopeful called Jack Wiles comes in to this race as the leader of the Vacansoleil team. This is his first race of the year and we are all exited to see how he will preform with the best of the best. Aristotle Arguelyes comes from a 6th place overall in Langkawi and will be co-leader in the Katusha squad together with Yuri Trofimov.

Paris - Nice, Stage 1

A flat stage today, as the riders set off towards the south and Nice. Favourites for this race are Andy Schleck, Robert Gesink, Denis Menchov, Romain Kreuziger and Levi Leipheimer.
The first part of the stage was chaotic with lots of attacks. With 60 kilometres remaining Aramendia (Euskaltel) and Maes (QuickStep) were at the front with Flecha (Sky) and Maaskant (Garmin) not far behind. Even the peloton was only a bit over a minute behind. Wiles and Arguelyes was in the back of the pack. Here is Wiles, protected by Lighart.
i1137.photobucket.com/albums/n509/ASchleck/PCM0001-1.jpg

The heavy rain made the pack go slower then expected and with 5 kilometres to go, the break, which now contained Maes, Flecha, Wurf, Burghardt and Maaskant had over a minute to the peloton!
In the final sprint Maaskant crushed the other escapees and took stage one of Paris - Nice 2011!
A dissapointed Flecha and a happy Maaskant after the finish line:

1. Maaskant, Garmin
2. Flecha, Sky
3. Burgardt, BMC
..................
50. Wiles, Vacansoleil +0'42
134. Arguelyes, Katusha + 0'42

Vuelta a la Region de Murcia

Riders

Bob Bobson, RadioShack

Miniatas Konovalovas, RadioShack

Evgeniy Mazlov, Movistar

Top results:

Stage 1: Sømme 5th, Bobson 12th
Stage 2: Sømme 5th
Stage 3: Sømme 2nd, Bobson 3rd

GC: Sømme 2nd

Summary: Sømme in great shape, and will most likely ride Tirreno - Adriatico together with his big idol Edvald Boasson Hagen. Only Castroviejo could prevent a 1-2 for Sømme and Bobson on the 12 kilometres long TT in the last stage. Sømme finishes 2nd overall after exceptional riding in the second, hilly stage of the race.
