And by that you guys are reassuring what I said: F. Schleck was badly positioned, Gilbert was out of form, Valverde isn't a real favorite + punctured in a horrible time, Vino is no real favorite/wasn't racing, Cunego didn't recover well, etc... after all, Iglinsky didn't beat a lot of top names in top shape, mainly Rodriguez (who could either have had a bad day or not recovered much from Fleche, proved by ending in 15th), and Nibali, who bust all his energy too early.
Nibali couldn't afford to wait for Saint-Nicolas so Iglinskiy had the luck that Nibali was the only one in form.
Exactly, meaning that Iglinskiy didn't put in an 'extraordinarily amazing out-of-this-world' performance today, and can't be labelled 'doper' right away.
I wasn't saying Iglinski is doped but was arguing that almost everyone was in top shape but did nothing for an entire race. Also it was an amazing ride by him. He was clearly the strongest in the race. If you can close a gap of 45 seconds in 5k and then win with 20 seconds difference, you clearly had an amazing ride.
Pozzato sucks!

My two cents, literally: great race!
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

EDIT: And the guy's been one of the most obvious dopers in the peloton for years now. He's been named in like 3 different investigations. I thought Vino winning was bad, but this is a new low
The 45 seconds was always to Gilbert. Iglinski was never more than 20 back.

What do you know about it ? Hasn't history taught you a lesson when Vino, Kash, Fofonov, etc. got their wins stripped away ? |

It might be suspicious but it is unfair to judge Iglinskiy because of what other Kazachs have done in the last years.

Same team, named in may affairs, surprising performance. Plus I'm not judging (until proven otherwise I'm not a court). |

Watched the race a few hours later, and I'm very surprised.
1. Iglinskiy looked to be the strongest, and deserves the victory.
2. The other riders did not want to or could not chase him. Were they all dead, or just looking at each other?
3. A lot of teams were working at the wrong time, and when the final started, they were nowhere to be seen (Radio Shack) or they their leaders were isolated (Lotto, BMC, Rabobank).
4. Nibali showed some guts, unfortunately for him a little bit too early.
To me, it's understandable that people start questioning the victories of Gasparotto and Iglinsky. 2 good riders, who have never won that much, now suddenly win 2 World Tour races against the big names, both riding for a team with a questionable history....
But like others have said: a negative doping test will mean that Astana had a perfect training plan and strategy for their riders.
And 001RusKZ: The Fleche was won by a Spanish guy (who happens to ride for a Russian team), just as an Italian guy won the AGR......

This is as stupid as say ..All ex. Roman empire will celebrate Gasparotto win. |

Here are some Iglinskiy facts:
Had won 1 race in the last 3 years.
Last year his best result was an 11th place in a TdF stage (though maybe there was a good reason for lack of performance last year - and drink driving doesn't count)
Best result in the Ardennes before this year was 17th in Fleche Wallonne.
So he's a decent hilly classics rider (I wouldn't say under-rated though), but suddenly the strongest man in LBL?
Now, we could ignore these facts if we wanted to, but looking at Astana's incredibly successful Ardennes performance suggests these facts should probably not be ignored.
