19th August 2011 - Dutch Food Valley Classic
As the Cycling World prepares for the Vuelta a España to kick off, I head to the Netherlands, to begin my World Championships preparations.
It is a nice flat stage, so the focus of the team will be setting me up for the victory.
Isaac will be given a chance to impress and will look to breakaway at the beginning.
12km: The day's break formed very early on in the stage, with some of the Dutch Domestic teams wanting to show what they can do to the race organisers and the spectators.
21km: We managed to get Isaac into the day's break, and following many other attacks, the group grew to 14 riders.
44km: That was deemed to dangerous by the peleton, and soon Garmin, Sky and OmegaPharma began to push on the front.
56km: Everything was slow brought back together, but the attacking soon resumed, as more riders wanted to get away.
66km: A smaller seven man group formed, and was given some freedom to roam by the peleton, building a gap 8'34" at one point.
95km: Crash! Rabon is brought down after a touch of wheels. Luckily no one is brought down, and he gets up with only a few cuts.
101km: After the crash, we take full control, slowing it down to let Rabon get back on. With him back at the front, the pace is upped to reel in this breakaway!
169km: With around 20km to go, the break still had 1'45" over the peleton, and some riders thought it was their time have a go off the front.
175km: The attacks cause some disorganisation and panic in the break, and soon enough they were caught by the peleton.
187km: All is brought together until the peleton enters back into Veenendaal. Stijn Joseph (Topsport) and Tomasz Marczynski (CCC - Polsat) try their luck off the front but behind, the sprints were getting organised.
193km: The two men are brought back soon enough, and it was all set for a sprint finish. Tony Martin hit the front, with Brammeier in his wheel, whilst I sat behind Renshaw.
197km: However, as the sprint began, I made a quick decision and took the wheel of Julian Dean. The Garmin lead out was looking strong, and Renshaw has tiring fast. Would this gamble pay off...
198km: Show me the money!! With 250m to go, I burst out from behind Dean, and blast past to take victory number 11 of the season! Great start to my Worlds preparations.

20th August - 11th September 2011 - La Vuelta a España
As with the Giro d'Italia back in May, I am not taking part in this year's Vuelta a España, however, I will still be reporting on the stages to give you all an insight to what is happening at the final Grand Tour of the year.
The HTC - Highroad team come to Spain, with two distinct groups in mind.
Leading in the race for GC will be Peter Velits. The Slovakian finished on the podium last year with a great ride, and will look to emulate that again. He will be aided by his brother Martin, and the Americans Craig Lewis and Caleb Fairly.
In the sprints, we go with a two horned attack, in the form of John Degenkolb and Alex Rasmussen. John is taking part in his first Grand Tour so will look to learn from this experience, whilst Alex is in some great form after a magnificent Post Danmark Rundt. Both riders will have great support, in the form of New Zealand Champion Hayden Roulston and the Australian sprinter Leigh Howard.
The line up is completed by Jan Ghyselinck, who will work as a domestique, and be given a free role during some stages.
Alberto Contador (Saxobank - Sungard)
Joaquim RodrÃguez (Katusha Team)
Bradley Wiggins (Sky ProCycling)
Edvald Boasson Hagen (Sky ProCycling)
Andre Greipel (OmegaPharma - Lotto)
Óscar Freire (Rabobank)
Samuel Snchez (Euskatel - Euskadi)

Well he did nothing in the Tour, so it was about time he showed what he can do in the sprints.
