Jennings is dropped for South Africa, as is Berhane aparantly.
Not really sure why Jennings was selected. There are other riders i would've chosen above him. Berhane must have had bike issues or a crash of sort.
In other African news:
Johann van Zyl is looking good inside the top ~30. He's riding for Louis Meintjes. Tsgabu Grmay is also looking good, perhaps supporting Louis as well. Louis has a good chance of doing well; especially if things get really broken up on the climbs. He's not gonna win anything, but is strong enough to get a decent result. Merhawi Kudus could perform well too. I spotted him in the front third of he group.
First time I'm seeing these guys race live, pretty cool
Am I the only one surprised by how comfortably Teshome (in the break) is riding?

Jennings wasn't selected initially, but then was put in the team later I think?
MTN seemed pretty bullish about Meintjes chances, although he is sitting further back than I would like.

MTN tends to be bullish about everything
I don't like him sitting way back, but he doesn't look like a guy who's about to be dropped. Hopefully he'll move up in the next few laps. Just saw he's already moved up a few places.

He's really looking good indeed.
Herklotz still very far back in the group, I hope that's part of a strategy, though I don't know which strategy would include that...

Silvio is roughly alongside Louis. I think that neither of them are in extreme difficulty, but if they want to feature, they should start moving up...

Kudus fell there.
ALso if Van Zyl is attacking then Meintjes probably doesn't feel great.

Are you sure it wasn't Debesay (nr 94)?
Agreed, maybe Louis isn't feeling too great. We'll see how this pans out...

It looked like 96 to me, but I'm not 100% sure.

Kudus in the top 50 more or less. Johann also there. Grmay too.
Louis has moved up to the top 80, so looking better.

And Debesay not in the time check, so I was probably wrong.

Aproximately 50 riders have either abandoned or are significantly behind the pack. Berhane apparently one of them - Can that be true?
Also Grosu already behind. Slightly dissapointing I think. Lecuisinier and Herklotz a fair bit back.

Does the timing work for anyone else, mine seems to have stopped working.

Berhane had to have a crash or mechanical.
What happened to the Germans?
EDIT: Yea, Kudus right there on the front of the pack.
