Expansion Pack: Stat Discussion
AiZaK
Many months ago I told:
Valverde SPR 69 HILL 80/81

Other Suggestion:
In your DB I think that Purito has flat has 69, Valverde 67.
I think you must do the opposite, Purito in flat, he is small, the wind disturbs him a lot. Valverde is stronger, I think in the flat Valverde maybe fine 69/70

In La Vuelta 2012 it was showed Purito in the flat maybe he deserves 66/67

Actually Valverde has 69 and Rodriguez has 68 which will be changed to 67. His SPR was changed in this version to 69 too.

About, Valverde's hill stat, 80 would put him 3rd best in DB, 79 seems much fairer in comparison and will stay so until the Ardennes at least.

He is good sprinter, he deserves more than 69 SPR

Alakagom
Yep, I'am looking through most suggestions and evaluating them. Your Hanson suggestions is spot on.

The last questions:

If you add Katusha to WorldTour
How many teams there are in WT: 18 or 19??

If your answer is 19 (I suppos xD) maybe the game crashes, or some problems in the races??? Its possible in the game that in Vuelta, Giro, Tour,... 23 teams??

Thanks!

Alakagom
That's lluuiiggii call there, at this point, I have no idea. I would guess 18 teams, as it could indeed influence the whole calendar if there was 19 WT teams as you say. I am sure Lluuiiggii will work out the best solution.

CrueTrue
19 teams. It won't create any problems. The game will just invite one team less.

I wouldn't worry about this decision too much until it comes out. Any solution they come up with we have a way to handle. The game is pretty flexible when it comes to how many teams and riders are doing what.

19 teams, perfect, I don´t remmember, in PCM, How many teams goes to Giro, Tour & Vuelta???

Blueprint
22 for all grand tours. PCM-wise this will mean that wildcards for Romandie (IAM), all French WT stage races (Cofidis, Europcar, Sojasun), all Italian WT stage races (Vini Fantini, Bardiani, Androni) and Eneco Tour (Topsport Vlaanderen, Accent Jobs, Crelan) are pretty much set in stone for 2013.

So took a look at the .cdb and have some suggestions.

First, Joaquin Rodriguez. His endurance is 78. Third best from all punchers behind Gilbert and Gerrans. I know he just won Lombardia but except of that, his results in the long (~250 km) classics have been less than his results over shorter hilly courses in both stage races and classics. Lowering the stat to 76 would make a lot of sense imo.

Next, Alberto Contador has 5 more flat as Andy Schleck. Don't know how much influence this will have on the game but it seems quite much to me.

Both Schleck's could also use a small boost in endurance aswell. It's quite clear they don't have any problem at all over long courses. Hard to prove with the results. Well, Liege is always their best race.

Nacer Bouhanni's hill stat should be highered to somewhere in the 71 zone. After finishing seventh in Barcelona during last year's Vuelta in a hilly final. He was also part of the small favourites group including Gilbert and Contador in Oman on the third stage won by Sagan.

Sagan's coblle stat is only 24th best of all riders in the DB. Don't think guys like Tossato, Hayman and Paolini should have more as him.

Think I have made some good arguments.

Blueprint
Julian Arredondo only has a potential of 3 and is somewhat of a sprinter type. Judging by his performances in the Japan Cup (4th in a group with Basso, Majka & D. Martin) and various mountain stages in the Asia Tour, including today's impressive performance on Cameron Highlands, he's definitely more of a climber/puncher and should have potential 4 or 5, depending on what he will do at Genting Highlands.

Also, if I remember correctly, Ion Izagirre has a potential of 3. This should be 5 or 6, as he is very young and already showed his class in, for example, Giro d'Italia and Tour Down Under.

Ion has a potential of 4. But I agree, he looks very talented, and deserves 5 or 6.

And btw, nice that you guys took a look at(and used) my Dutch CT stats Wink

Egoitz García Echeguibel should have his sprint abilities increased to 71-72 and his cobblestones skills up to 72 after his impressive performance today on Omloop het Nieuwsblad.

I agree with Blueprint about Julián Arredondo

2012 [ITA] 8a 3 Stage Settimana Ciclistica Internazionale Coppi-Bartali, Levizzano (ITA)
2012 [JPN] 1a 3 Stage Tour of Japan, Shinshu (JPN)
2012 [JPN] 2a 4 Stage Tour of Japan, Mt. Fuji (JPN)
2012 [JPN] 2a GC Tour of Japan (JPN)
2012 [JPN] 2a 2 Stage Kumano, Kumano (JPN)
2012 [JPN] 2a GC Kumano (JPN)
2012 [JPN] 4a Japan Cup, Utsunomiya (JPN)
2013 [MAS] 2a 3 Stage Tour de Langkawi, Cameron Highlands (MAS)

He has at the moment only MO 62, REC 64 and HILL 63

Jose Serpa TT should be updated he was 19 at the last stage of Giro ahead of guys like SCARPONI, RODRIGUEZ, BASSO, NAVARDAUSKAS, BAUER and CLEMENT. I think 69 should be ok.

Víctor Niño (COL) Stats need an update:
2011 [COL] 6º in General Classification Vuelta a Colombia (COL)
2011 [COL] 3º in General Classification Vuelta a Cundinamarca (COL)
2011 [COL] 1º in General Classification Vuelta a Boyacà (COL)
2011 [BOL] 4º in General Classification Vuelta a Bolivia (BOL)
2011 [MEX] 6º in General Classification Vuelta a Chiapas (MEX)
2012 [MAS] 2º in Stage 6 Tour de Langkawi, Genting Highlands (MAS)
2012 [MAS] 3º in General Classification Tour de Langkawi (MAS)
2012 [TPE] 1º in Stage 6 Tour de Taiwan, Tainan (TPE)
2012 [TPE] 8º in General Classification Tour de Taiwan (TPE)
2012 [COL] 5º in General Classification Vuelta a Colombia (COL)

He is a Climber – Puncher and can do well in 1 week Tours. Maybe MO 69, END 68, RES 67, HILL 68 would be better

Some more suggestions:

Nizzolo should have his timetrial stat upgraded from 57 to about 65. He finished 23rd in the last stage of the 2012 Giro, a 28 km TT.

Plus I think you downgraded Bobridge a bit too much after 2012, he wasn't focusing on the road after all.

Some sprinters that need to be lowered:

C.B. Huff
D. Downing
M. Merlo
N. Eeckhout
E. Pinto
G. Briggs
A. Manan
C. Van Heerden
K. Jezowski
D. Rudnicki
K. Jebjerg

Most of this guys haven't got any CQ points at all last season, or weren't riding.

Jesleyh
I shouldn't lower N. Eeckhout too much. He did some good things in both .1 and .2 races, and got quite a few CQ points... And he's very old, so he will decline fast anyway Pfft

Wouldn't lower Manan too much either. He's actually currently proving that he's a decent sprinter, with Top 10's in Langkawi.

J.A. Benitez
L. Moser
J. Mombaerts
E. Salgueiro
C. Scognamiglio
K. House
L. Pierfelici
K. Carlström
P. Merino
J. Suarez
D. Fleeman

I found their stats slightly too high, thats why they are on my list, but i have to admit they are by far the strongest riders on my list. So Alakagom should have a look at them and decide what to do. Wink
