WOW, from the overhead that was one impressive sprint for Cavendish
He didn't have any real serious competition in terms of sprints though (no offense, but Goss' still hurt, and the others are nowhere fast enough anyway).
The competition doesn't make an ounce of difference here. Cavendish was quite clearly boxed in a few times. When he finally got out of his box, he had to kick off the speed somewhat and almost freewheel whilst he got a space back, then kicked again.
That was impressive.

Cavendish vs. Sagan right now would be interesting. Cav would still probably win but, i'd like to see it

That was impressive. Of course it was, I didn't mean to say he's not strong or anything. It's just less difficult to come back and win when your opponents speed is, say, 63 km/h instead of 68. |

Cavendish only loses if he crashes in this Giro... Maybe Farrar could have provided a little competition.

Kittel and Greipel are the only two guys who stand a chance against Cav at the moment, IMO, in a pan flat stage/race. A fit Goss and Dengelkolb come right after those three (which says a lot about what a sprinters roster HTC had). |

Quite a surprise. Cav is doing the whole Giro.
"It took me a week to really fully recover and get my legs back again. The guys are really looking after me though; they are keeping me protected throughout the stages which is perfect and I want to go to Milan and win the points jersey."
To me this confirms a bit he will not finish Tour and will try to get the Point Jersey here as a compensation for the Green at Tour. He feels a lot better now so they always make it with the gruppetto till the last day, will be very interesting though, didn't think this would happen.

Its obvious that he wants to be winner of the points jersey in all 3 grand tours. |

So, what about tomorrow?
I expect Rujano to go crazy on the final climb. Not sure about the other big names, but I think Scarponi will try something if he has the legs to.
Rodriguez should keep the jersey, as long as he doesn't blow up like he did in the Vuelta last year. I think he's much better now though, possibly better than ever before.

Predicted weather up Cervina as quite wet and cold. Might affect few GC riders like Rujano. Hopefully that will change for better spectacle.

I don't know about Rodriguez. He's in form since like the Ardennes, which were a month ago. I expect him to blow up completely in the last week.
And if Cavendish does finish the Giro then we'll most certainly know which are his intentions for Le Tour.

I share with opinion of Alex, Rodriguez on this weekend, will not fail, but in the next week, I believe he fail, and Basso and Scarpo will take some aproveitement.
Abgout Cav, is diferent be a sprinter.

Inhale and feel alive my friends. We've reached that magical time of the year when the Giro heads into the mountains.

dengelkolb? lol wut?
I think some of you are forgetting soem guy. Rides for Garmin. Beat Cav in aTDF sprint last year, what was it, stage 3? I can't put my finger on it. He crashed out of the Giro and was clearly not on form, but apparently he is a pretty good sprinter.

Farrar kinda seems like the new Boonen.
Was originally a classics rider. Became a sprinter. Rose to the top. Became "scared" of sprinting/ not fast anymore.
And Degenkolb is fast.

I know Farrar isn't exactly the best anymore, but come on man.
Degenkolb? When was his grand tour stage win? Wait, how many pro tour wins does he have? The two Dauphine stages and?...
