I don't know what it is, but Goss seems superb at positioning himself. He was so far back before that last 90 degree turn, then he was brought forward by someone (Lancaster?) and found himself on the right wheel at the end. He was just short of being quick enough.
Good result for Hunter as well in 4th.

I'm impressed by Kristoff. If I remember correctly he's been in the top 7 in every sprint.

You could see today that Cavendish was totally focused on nothing else but a victory |

Sky have hopefully finally nailed the leadout train after todays performance. I don't think Cavendish was ever going to lose that one since his daughter was waiting for him at the finish line. |

Impressed?
What he does before the sprint is terrible. He's empty when Cav and co starts to sprint. It's not good enough.

2 years ago, he's different cyclists now and overpaid too, no matter if he has the stripes, look at his cobble campaign this year
Forgetting something, are we? He was nowhere near his top form, due to sickness. On top of that he crashed out of Paris - Roubaix. Don't judge Hushovd on what he has done this spring, he was seriously set back because of the sickness.
That was enough with my Norwegian glasses on. This should be Cav's stage, no one should be able to touch him today.
Okay Let's judge him now. The highest paid rider in the Giro gets dropped on 4th category hill... ( Cav deal is about 1.7 million those you wondering ) Let's hope he improves for the Tour then.
You're really missing something vital
On top of that, I'm sure you're talking only to provoke, and you're doing it pretty well.
Should I judge Cavendish only on one race? Should I judge any other rider in the peloton based on one stage/one race? Hushovd isn't close to his best in the Giro, he has said so himself. Of course he will be better in Tour de France, after all, the Olympics comes close after, which is a goal for Hushovd this year. I'll guess we see there how good he actually is on hills, as he'll most likely be in-form at the Olympics. We all know he's better than Cavendish in top form on hills, question that will be answered in the Olympics is whether he's good enough on hills to win the Olympics.
And for those 2.5 millions Euros, I'm wondering what your source is. Unless it's someone close to Hushovd, I'm extremely curious
Having said all that, no doubt Hushovd was bad today. Hopefully he can improve his form during the Giro, and try something in a couple of days. |

We all know how good Hushovd can be in the hills. When he's not better than Cav in the hills, his shape is bad. 2+2.

I agree with you on most of that. Hushvod to me is declining though and with his bad luck of injuries he's not a rider he was, imo. Those 2.5 millions is a source from a Norwegian guy on cyclingnews forums who knows a lot about Norwegian riders etc. he's really reliable ( predicted the EBH coach swap 3 days before it was reported on cyclingews etc. ) so I trust him on that really.

Hushovd is crap. He is way over the top. He have showed some things this season(one stage at Paris-Nice) and he raced good in Roubaix(except the crash). But he seriously lacks the top pace. He wasn't so far off the others in Roubaix, but he had no chance. Last year, he was good, but the results didn't come. Now he is just crap. Will hopefully be better when they come to TDF and the Olympics, but need an extreme good training period.

Great win by Cav. Once again proves he is in a different league to everyone else when it comes to sprinting.
As I said earlier, he will win every sprint he contests at this Giro and isn't knocked off by an idiot. |

Time to hunt for a finish video. At least being driven in to by Ferrari allowed Cav to take a 2nd Giro win in the rainbow stripes.

Technically, he has only been in the Top 197 on every sprint stage, he crashed on Stage 1 afterall. And his 6th place wouldnt have been 6th if it werent for the crash on that stage.

So Goss wasn't in the top 2 during todays sprint, is that what you are saying? And if pigs had wings they would probably be flying.

Are you talking to an invisible person or something?
Youve aimed your post at someone, yet nobody was talking about Goss. (Or pigs.)

Yeah, it should be a good stage. I fancy a breakaway, since it's a bit too hard for the pure sprinters but not hard enough for the GC contenders.
Balloni probably wants to defend his KoM jersey, so maybe a decent result for him tomorrow?

Schleck would have won the Tour if it wasn't Evans. That's not a valid argument |

No, he wouldn't. He'd have found another way to screw up and somehow finish second anyway. There's nothing to do about that, it'll always be that way.
