First time in 11 years that Erviti finishes inside the top50!
Do you guys reckon he can contend next season?
The entire race I was thinking, has there ever been a more mediocre rider on a WT team for as long as he has been? I cannot think of anything he has done apart from ride in breaks.
Garcia Acosta, Pablo Lastras, Imanol Erviti. You need those guys. There is a reason Erviti is selected over and over at Le Tour
The first two are both better riders tho. Every team needs selfless teammates but I dont think he is all that great at anything, hes just really average at everything, dont get me wrong he isnt bad either just he isnt going to be setting the pace on mountains nor is he going to lead out for sprinters, or if he is there are loads of better options.
IMO, Jose Ivan Gutierrez was a much better version of Erviti, great on the flats, good climber, great TTer and always a strong breakaway rider too.
They probably are, I don't really remember Acosta, but Lastras is. Today showed that Erviti isn't some scrub tho and he has won 2 stages en La Vuelta as well, so it isn't bad at all.
Yes, Gutierrez had the same role, and he was a better overall rider as well. But IMO it doesn't really matter that much, really, its all about the dirty work, positioning and simply being comfortable around the guy. Like Tosatto

Sebastien Minard? Erviti has those two Vuelta stage wins. Minard won Paris-Camembert in 2010 and that's it. Berard is on his way as well. The French teams always have one or two around.
