Reyes, won U23 classification in last Vuelta a Colombia, Aguirre did so in 2015.
They are the next big thing here, with 6 or 7 other guys, upcoming, which are known for being better than Chaves, Quintana and the current "golden generation"....
Keep an eye on them

No.

11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Giro della Valle d'Aosta Mont Blanc, Stage 3
Another mountaintop finish in Italy. Schachmann won the stage from an early breakaway, staying well ahead of the strongest guys in the bunch. Fellow breakaway riders Sivakov and RodrÃguez stayed away as well. Enric Mas was the strongest once again from the bunch, but Padun did surprisingly well to keep up and defend his leader's jersey. Schachmann moves into 2nd place in GC, while Sivakov moves into 3rd.
Volta a Portugal do Futuro, Stage 2
After a rather flat opening stage, the second stage in Portugal had some hills at the end, which split the peloton. Gomes won and takes the lead in GC.

Giro della Valle d'Aosta Mont Blanc, Stage 4
Frankiny wins the queen stage after a nice duel with Enric Mas. Frankiny also took the leader's jersey from Padun, who finished 10th.
Volta a Portugal do Futuro, Stage 3
The Colombian team of Boyacá Raza de Campeones, dominated the third stage in Portugal, with a 1-2 finish and another 2 riders in the top 10. The stage featured some tough climbs. Finish was after a descent.

Giro della Valle d'Aosta Mont Blanc, Stage 5 & GC
Frankiny wins the GC after a great battle in the final stage. After a huge team attack by Team Colpack, Frankiny got in trouble. Ravasi and Padun dropped Frankiny and reached Zaccanti who was in the break. Together they distanced Frankiny. Mas was already dropped because of a puncture. Ravasi and Padun finished together, while Mas got back to Frankiny and dropped him later. In the end Frankiny had only 8 seconds left on Mas and 11 on Padun.

Volta a Portugal do Futuro, Stage 4 & GC
Finish was on top of a 1st category climb. Again the Colombian team of Boyacá Raza de Campeones dominated the results with a 1-3-5. It was Diagama who won the stage, in front of home favourite Gaspar Gonçalves and the eventual GC winner Wilson RodrÃguez.

Amund Grøndahl Jansen won in l'Avenir yesterday and Kristoffer Halvorsen sprints to victory today; great start for the norwegian team, for two young guys who both should turn pros for next season. |

After the brilliant Tour of Utah, Costa is at it again. Currently the biggest GT talent of all hopeful youngsters?

Massive effort from Martinez to finish only 11 seconds from Costa in a TT, should make things interesting once they start heading uphill

Past couple of days saw the mountains come up and Gaudu & Ravasi are fighting it out. Gaudu is yet another climbing talent for France.. because they clearly don't have enough of those. Currently leading the race with 21 on Ravasi and over a minute on Costa.

Powless took the last stage win, Gaudu, Ravasi and Costa finished together shortly after together. Now Gaudu is another french winner of Avenir in recent years, following Barguil and Sicard. Let's hope he'll develop more like the former rather than the latter. Costa with a great 3rd place nonetheless.

Costa and Bernal at that age continue to impress. Haven't seen such huge talents in a long time.

Also Pavel Sivakov and Bjorg Lambrecht seem like very good talents. Maybe Fabio Jakobsen could be one as well, though that might be a bit chauvinism

Same could be said for a few of the 19/20 year old's in this field, impressed with a few of these guys.

Time to revive this thread as the RvV U23 has been raced today. First ever Irish victory there, as Dunbar takes a solo win. 2nd place is for Jasper Philipsen who already took the Tryptique des Monts et Chateux a week ago.
Especially this Philipsen guy seems like a massive talent, only turned 19 a month ago.
