3. Domestique duty is the only thing which is not factored in here, but if Contador had been working for Kreuziger then I seriously doubt the results would be much different.
Did you watch the same tour as me? I seem to remember that come every mountain stage, Contador would get dropped, Roman would pick him up, drag him up the mountain with Contador struggling to keep wheel.
Contador is barely ahead on most of the point scale, but that would easily be flipped if not for Roman having to work for Cont at tour, as he would have been 4th (maybe even 3rd) and would have had several stage placings much higher then he ended up with which would push it back in his favour.
I don't think there is much better them, but Roman imo just edges it this season. |

I'm willing to accept that some may think kreuziger had a better season and certainly some of his results are more impressive, but by saying that it is up in the air about which one is better when objective mathematical analysis using multiple different systems confirm the same conclusions then I'm willing to like my odds of being right here. The only other way that it could be argued against is if we use hypothetical examples (which cannot be known and rely on entirely subjective speculation) about Contador working for Kreuziger. Given that did not happen, looking at the results of the season (as Avin did) shows that Contador has had a better season.

They are quite equal. I would say Kreuziger because he looked better then Contador on many stages in the Tour and also does good in other races as with the win at AGR. |

well lets see next year..
If Contador weakest season ever is same level to Kreuziger top year ever then there is nothing to celebrate. Kreuziger wont be at tour podium..leader or helper doesnt matter |

Euskaltel management told the riders to find a new team for 2014

I find it better to see them fold rather than to keep hiring non-Basque riders. Sad to see them go though.
I guess this solves the problem of the 19th Pro Tour team ? |

I'm not in the least bit sad. They've pretty much broken the team record for positive tests, a team like that is not welcome in my book.

So, how many of them to Tinkoff?
I'm expecting Samu to join Movistar, but aside from him I really don't know.

Doesn't look likely that Vacansoleil will exist next year either.

I can see both of your points. It is so nostalgic seeing them there, and seeing them go is sad in that sense, but at the same time... yeah... not the cleanest team of all time

They must be pretty much even with Lampre. Or maybe before them, but behind them in terms of former dopeheads employment on the long term.
I don't really miss that aspect, but they've been around for a while, with quite an unique philosophy and a strong visual identity, so it'll feel different without them. |

Thankfully someone has already done the work on this. Euskaltel has 8 recorded positives and Lampre (adding up all the various team names) has 5. The difference is Lampre is also tied to things like Mantova. Without adding everything up Telekom takes the win with 9 positives.

If you do it /year, they wouldn't be that bad though. Katusha and Astana have about the same numbers but are not even half as long in the peloton

Does this mean the end of the Continental Euskadi team as well? Presuming so, but since it would be nice to see a Basque team somewhere in the three tiers, I hope not personally.
Not going to miss Euskaltel-Euskadi as much since they have moved away from their former principles. However, I did have a soft spot for them 'Bloody Carrots' while they did practice their Basque policies. Just like how Athletic are my "team" in Spain for the football.
Might be a bit antiquated and such, but something humbling and great about seeing teams focusing on local talent and community, from my perspective. |

Contador has been beaten by Pieter Weening in a hilly time trial this season. I mean.. that really says it all.
Kreuziger > Contador |

No, they are a different and totally unrelated team, and as far as I know they're continuing. In fact, I'd heard a rumour about them getting more funds for next year, but nothing official, so I wouldn't really put much weight on that.
