Wow, Nibbles already 1'30 ahead of Evans!

Evans is 1'26 behind in the GC. So 1'30 meant that Nibali gained 4s on him so far.
Edit: Or maybe not.

Oh, Sporza fail then, I guess.
Though Evans lost a lot on intermediate, so I think I was right
Edit: Okay, I was right.

As I thought Evans is very vulnerable. He has been in his old wheelsucker role, doing the very best he can at the finishes. Could lose a lot of time here.
But Nibali is winning the Giro here (as if he had not already).

Evans turning back the clock now and gaining, but nowhere near enough
And Majka's going to put in a quite good time it seems

He is hardly a wheelsucker. He just can't accelerate as well as other riders and thus doesn't attack a lot. Just like Wiggins, who is not a wheelsucker by any means. A wheelsucker would be someone like Valverde who can climb and accelerate but chooses to wait for the final 500m of a mountain before sprinting for time bonuses.

I think Rodriguez is also kind of a wheelsucker, he always waits for the last 1000 metres and then attacks. |

Yeah definitely. He is a bit better than he used to be (particularly when fighting against Valverde, who can outsprint him) but he is another good example of this sort of rider. Evans is just mischaracterised, but it is simply because he can't attack, particularly as he gets older. Just like Basso.

Evans was very attacking last year and the year before that, but before those years he was always a defending rider trying to hold on for a good GC. |

My point about Evans is that he has this incredible ability to follow, even when he is not going that great. We have seen him attacking quite often in recent years, but here he has done very little even token attempts to attack.
At the Giro he has been desperately following. Today we see his form isn't that good,

As Evans said in the 2005 Tour: "That was the first time in my life I attacked"

I'd argue his form is excellent, he's just not that good anymore
And it's raining now. Wonder if Scarponi will win the TT on account of that...
