I hope Conta will drop Purito today, it could be a nice finish. Also Froome is a big question for me, he can blow out maybe?

8% slopes should suit him better than 15+ ones, but with his form dropping, I reckon he'll lose a few minutes one of these days, might be today or in the coming two days. |

I still think that Conta can take back max 15-25 seconds per day. |

Looking forward to the final climb.
Still doubt we'll see major gaps today. Tomorrow and Monday's finishes will be harder I think.

Valverde said a few days ago that monday's finish is where we'll see the biggest gaps
Today he said maybe it'll be today because yesterday was an extremely hard stage due to the wind. Contador and RodrÃguez agree.

I doubt we'll see big gaps on Cuitu Negru either. Pajares isn't exactly the hardest climb around, so it's likely that it'll be all about the last (very steep) 3 km.

True.
Lagos de Covadonga will be hard at least. Perhaps even the hardest mountain top finish in this race, since Bola del Mundo is also basically "just" the final few kilometers.

Yep, pretty much. Of course, it could happen that they make the race hard in the previous climbs, one can dream. Otherwise opening gaps in Pajares would be close to impossible.

Hmmm... to bet on breakaway or favorite. Roche obviously.

I hope this entire post is ironic.
De Gendt did two grand tours in his cycling career. Two. He ended on the podium on the only one of the two he started with modest GC ambitions. Conclusion: no conclusions possible yet on De Gendt. Comparing him with GT contenders is guesswork and personal interpretation.
The end.
you know there is only 5months age difference between them?
but as i said you cant compare them, neither has hit what they are capable of
the fact that Gesink has all those results at a very similar age says a lot though.
Both are leaders here. The better rider, is the one that does better, is that acceptable.
If you cant draw conclusions on a 25yearold in his 4th pro season then when can you?

I think the break could still hold on. The gap is still around two minutes, even though Saxobank are pushing on hard.

Nah, once one of the 2 climbers Saxo has supporting Contador starts pulling, it's game over for them.
Edit: Not that they have a chance anyway.

I think that as long as Saxo gets the gap below 1:30 at the start of the final climb that all the GC attacks will bring them back. |

Yeah, it looks like Saxo weren't going anywhere near max. Paulinho reduced the gap by like thirty seconds in no time.
EDIT: Mechanical for Alberto.

Ah, Contador's punctured. Some fresh air for the break ?
Not sure what Bertie's team mate tried to do when he started again, grabbing his (Bertie) pocket ? |
