Well, I feel about the same as Pellizotti: it's been quite a while since I followed closely several stories (too many posts, too little time ), but of course it was impossible not to notice this story was still going on strongly more than a year and a half after it started. I remember being amazed when it passed 150 pages; 250, then, wow! (I think the page numbers occupy about 1/3 of the "PCM11: Stories" page )
But besides the quality of the reports and the (epic) length it has reached, I can't agree more with Daggen as for what was the most impressive imo:
Daggen wrote:
The most amazing thing with this story is that it was your first and only story ever.
I mean, lots of people give a go sometime at writing a story, some people go for several "tries", and most barely reach 10, 15 pages! And in your "first try" you make the longest story on PCMDaily (?), no idea from where you get so much motivation
Congratulations and thanks for letting us enjoy this beautiful story
ps.: Gesink's performance on Lombardia was a great way to close things up!

This story is going out on the Top!
It is the best story on the site and its sad that its over. The amount of time its been updated, its going to feel so weird with no more updates anymore.
A huge amount of respect to you, to stay motivated for this story for such a long time.
I agree with so much of what has already been said, by Pelli, Daggen, luigi, Freitas and everyone else.

Again, thank you all! The key to keep the motivation is to think about your story good before starting it, and then just stick to it. I had no doubt about this story, so the motivation was there all the time.
But that's enough about this one. It has stopped, and it's time to focus at the other stories, of which some are at least equal or better than this one.
And to conclude: without all your replies and comments, this wasn't possible. So thank you, members of PCM daily

This was a legendary story. True class.
Thanks for writing, it was great!
Wonder if there will ever be a story here getting to 250 pages again!
Great end of the story with Gesink winning Lombardia.

This was a great story, and it will be one of the greatest ever. Haven't followed the whole story, but reaching this number of pages, views and comments is just legendary. I will really miss this one. Hope there comes another story which 'replace' (well, there won't be a story which replaces this) this story, because you leave a gap in the stories thread. I hope you return once to continue this story, but I don't think that will ever happen. Congrats with your performance! Respect!

This was a great story indeed! I couldn't follow closely due to not a lot of time, but I read through the last couple of pages the last hour. Hope you'll start a new story some day! Thanks for writing the story! |

This story should not have worked. It was a first time, the team was overpowered and the idea was vagueish. Yet here we are 257 pages later...
I have actually read all 257 pages, and that is because i have wanted to know how the races went. The quality of these reports is superb and it has kept me interested for 257 pages.
Of course its not perfect, no story is, and neither is it the best PCM11 story (to me) but this is a forum great, and deserves the credit.
257 pages, 264337 views (at time of writing)..... Challenge accepted!
