Turns out I can't do the race today. I've had a very tiresome day and I can't get focused to write a long quality report. Instead I will determine how the race goes and fix the result, but write the actual report tomorrow.
Sorry about this, but if I'd do it now, it wouldn't be good at all. So expect it tomorrow evening!
As previously talked about, it's now reality. The fast pace of this game has come to an end. I won't make 1 update a day anymore. I think this might actually benifit the game, gives everyone a chance to catch their breath
So race tomorrow!
Next preview then later in the week, when I have time.

Hey Ian,
Certainly don't sweat that this has been a real fun game to bring in the new year. I am certainly enjoying the roleplaying element of it!

Thanks Smowz, I also believe it's been a succes-story so far
Also, the drop in pace doesn't mean you all have to sit and wait. I encourage you to fill the gaps with some role-playing |

Here is Portland CX
Tomorrow I start my internship, as I said before. So I have no idea about when I'll post the next preview. But to make up for it, I will probably post some statistic a bit later.

Thanks a lot!
And thanks to a silly holiday (Driekoningen - Three kings?) I have the rest of the afternoon off! Not exactly since I have to make up for the hours on Thursday
Have a lot of work but I'm not going to work from now until 22h tonight straight, so I will probably do the next preview somewhere in between. At least I'll try to

Won't have time to do the race today. I probably won't have the energy to do it tomorrow.
I might be able to do it on Friday, during the day. But I will already try to determine the race and the result late this evening or tomorrow.
Tactics to be send in before tonight to be sure. You can send in later, but no guarantee they'll be on time then.
Either way, no tactic doesn't mean no chance to win, of course. If you don't send in a tactic, I use the general rider's racing style or, if posted in the game thread, the tactic visible from the interview. |

Okay. I work from home all day tomorrow. I have quite some work to do but I think I can squeeze the race in between. If not, then definitely Saturday So stay tuned! |

Thanks a lot, mate
I'm proud to present the Lancaster Challenge race!
At 19:30 today I got really sick of work. I'm not the sort of guy to work from morning till night, I need some relax time. Luckily for you, writing is relaxing
Hope you enjoy the report, it was a strange race!
EDIT: This was the 10th race of the game. I have a feeling the game is falling into place steadily. I've received some PMs from members telling they don't want their rider to score high anymore because they're dropping out of the game. On the other hand, I start to see which members will be the main players of this game. This allows us to get the right riders to the front of the peloton over time
Still I refuse to retire riders at this point for inactive or quitting players. We still need pack fillers and even riders to take a victory away from the regular players. Would be boring to see only a few men winning. Why not an underdog winner every now and then, right?

And especially for those lovely active members who love their little numbers, a statistic: the podium places of the first 10 races:
Name | Gold | Silver | Bronze | Dries Cornelis | 3 | 2 | 0 | Francis N. Vague | 2 | 0 | 3 | Sylvain Lipawsky | 1 | 1 | 1 | James Carlisle | 1 | 0 | 2 | Robert Wells | 1 | 0 | 0 | Rudy Verboven | 1 | 0 | 0 | Shay Gormley | 1 | 0 | 0 | Elliot Cook | 0 | 3 | 1 | Andrew McLaughlin | 0 | 1 | 0 | Jack Smith | 0 | 1 | 0 | Matt Mazzarelli | 0 | 1 | 0 | Ronnie Hira | 0 | 1 | 0 | Michael Bollinger | 0 | 0 | 1 | Mikel Hammarling | 0 | 0 | 1 | Tariq Faizullah | 0 | 0 | 1 |
Most Successful rider: Dries Cornelis
Biggest Surprise: Rudy Verboven
Youngest Winner: Francis N. Vague
Most Unfortunate Rider: Elliot Cook
I'm thinking about doing some of the above awards and more at the end of the season, too. I'd set up a poll (off-site) and every rider could vote for them, is there interest in that?

Fonterra-Genesis on there twice, but I have two more observations which I mentioned in Josiah's blog.
Fonterra-Genesis are getting closer to an upset!
And Josiah was in the winning move!

No statistics available but I think he would dominate in that particular area, yeah
Glad to see some activity here again I was afraid it was dying out but it turns out you're all just around the corner waiting for the next report |
