Just had a meeting today with the former CEO of one of the biggest fishing/processing/sale companies in the country about my plans to write my thesis about a deal they carried out which was seen as pretty unethical.
Awkward... I felt so small I bet I could have squeezed through the keyhole on my way out.

Well that's certainly an intimidating thing. Why did they pressure you like that, was it that bad that they want none of it to be leaked more than it has? I understand bad press, yaddayadda, but normally they aren't too oppressive. But then again, US vs Norway, if that changes things.

No, not like that, we're not talking about a gigantic scandal or anything, my thesis won't be bringing the world of industrial whitefish processing to its knees (I wish).
Just a bit of an intimidating situation regardless of what was being said. It's just the notion of going up against the former head of a big, big company that makes you feel small.

Looking forward to my first Handball match since October on Sunday. Clubs running a friendly tournament for anyone at the Uni and my Physio has given me the go ahead to play provided i limit myself to 45mins. It's not much but perhaps finally my knee is properly on the way to recovery. Only taken 12 months.
Also quite my job as a chef to focus on my writing and pursue some freelance work in that area (yes i'm copying Mre ). Probably with one of the Uni papers but looking around a number of small scale sports and film sites as well.

You know you have some tough times ahead of you when you actually go to bed and kind of wish you wouldn't have to wake up tomorow...
But at the same time you can't sleep either.
So I guess browsing around PCM.Daily is as good as anything right now. I actually have quite some things to catch up to, that might kill some time. |
