NEWS
This morning, Team U25 signed on Cycleman-123 as the prerace reporter. He will write previews for every race, unless otherwise stated. My thanks goes out to him for his wish to assist in making this endeavor even more awesome.

Even a bad preview is better than no preview

STAGE 5
Here we are, the last day. It should be interesting, with an uncategorized 14 kilometer climb before the line.
It didn't take long for the break to form. Pate is the super popular in this group.
The break opens a 7'00" gap in just 50 km!
88 kilometers to the line, and Europcar picks up the pace. Martinez and Koretzky are attacking. The gap is 11'36".
27.4 to go, and the gap is over 5 minutes. The climb ahead is not to be taken as easy.
The favorites are off! Voeckler and Betancur are away!
Uran follows Plaza and Kiryienka.
What's this? 4 Team U25 riders are off the front in a bunch!
But up front, the BOTD will get victory. The sprint starts--
And Chaves holds on for victory!

Not an amazingly successful race for us, but some great experiences gained for our team
.2 races is where we will shine, though.

Remember: it is still early, and we have time to speed up. We'll get there.

Great team attack from U25, even though it didn't result in a top 50 finish |

It's really a shame, because they attacked from the 81-man peleton, got brought back, and then were dropped at the split and got caught in the middle of two 35-man groups...

Seems like my earlier question went unnoticed, so here it is again
How are the non-team riders doing at the moment?
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Sorry! Well as I said, Bennett was at GP Med. He finished waaay down the GC, and didn't finish high on any stage.
Kanza was present for Tour of Qatar. He finished 114th, only 3'14" back.
O'Malley has yet to race.
Hendrik Svensson was also at Qatar, finishing 111th.
Watchin has no results.
Mujagic still has yet to race.
Berg and Larsen are still nowhere to be seen.
I think that's all. Pretty disappointing so far, but CT teams will pop up in the 1.2 classics more often.

TOUR DU HAUT VAR
Welcome to the Tour du Haut Var, where the sponsor expects a stage win, so the U25 boys will be eager to impress. The DS is more modest, he only expects a top 40 in the GC.Â
The Startlist
https://s1273.phot...5.jpg.html https://s1273.phot...e.jpg.html
           Â
The Favourites Ones to Watch
J. Van den Broeck (LTB) N. Nuyens (GRM)
P. Rolland (EUR) G. Thomas (SKY)
T. Van Garderen (BMC) D. Moreno (KAT)
T. Pinot (FDJ)
N. Roche (STB)
S. Gerrans (OGE)
Stage 1: https://s1273.phot...6.jpg.html
https://s1273.phot...0.jpg.html
The opening stage of the Tour du Haut Var might very well be one for the breakaway. If a group of good climbers can get away then it could be very hard for the peloton to catch them with the several bumps leading into the finish and starting a fair way back at the first trip around the circuit. As always however, the win is most likely to come from the peloton, and if it does then a puncher should take the win. The uphill finish may be too much for the sprinty-punchers though, and we might see someone like Simon Gerrans taking victory. If team U25 tries another team attack, they might actually make it if they make some sort of train for their leader.
Stage 2: https://s1273.phot...b.jpg.html
https://s1273.phot...e.jpg.html
The second and final stage of the 2013 Tour du Haut Var finishes flat, however don't expect to see Nacer Bouhanni take the win . This is mainly because of the two short but steep category 1 climbs both at the start and near the finish. A long, steep, but surprisingly uncategorised climb is sure to split the peloton. The break will find it hard to get away, as the stage starts on a rather steep climb, but they'll find it rewarding as the KOM jersey will almost certainly goto someone in today's break. Again, the course suits a rider like Simon Gerrans, however he mightn't be able to keep up with the pace on the sharp hills. The race should be a battle of the above mentioned favorites, however any team that is in the lead group when we go flat has a good chance of victory. We could see a surprise win from Team U25 today, as if they can save riders and energy for the finish, their sprinters should be among the only survivors of that class. My theoretical money's on Tejay van Garderen though, how about you?
Thanks everyone for reading my first pre-race report, hope you liked it . As Jesleyh said, "A bad review's better than no review ", but does that apply to f****ng long ones?
Sorry if some things like photos stuffed up, I'm currently on holiday in Italy and am doing this on my iPad, the thing's deleted my work 6 times already so I hope this sticks
Thanks again, Cycleman123

TOUR DU HAUT VAR
Welcome to the Tour du Haut Var, where the sponsor expects a stage win, so the U25 boys will be eager to impress. The DS is more modest, he only expects a top 40 in the GC.Â
The Startlist
           Â
The Favourites | Ones to Watch | J. Van den Broeck (LTB) | N. Nuyens (GRM) | P. Rolland (EUR) | G. Thomas (SKY) | T. Van Garderen (BMC) | D. Moreno (KAT) | | T. Pinot (FDJ) | | N. Roche (STB) | | S. Gerrans (OGE) |
Stage 2:
I fixed the pictures and the table, hope you don't mind
