Congratulations!!!!!
Nothing have to be said - this was the most beautiful solo effort in professional cycling history. I remember the day as was it yesterday.
Vincenzo Nibali - Rui Costa - Nairo Quintana - Alberto Contador - Peter Sagan
WDshirts
The Last of the Real
- Story about Dries Deckers - racing against Merckx, de Vlaeminck etc.

Amazing win from Roberto, another great effort. You mustn't underestimate the beast, otherwise the beast will teach you a lesson. |

Winning La Vuelta and the Worlds. Both with great riding. That`s huge.
As you predicted earlier when winning the Nationals. |

Great win, but I can't help thinking that you did this on a easy difficulty level. Else it would be impossible to beat all the puncheurs by several minutes.
If so, the story will get boring, and the difficulty level has to be raised. If not, then the guy is freaking brilliant.

roturn: Thanks, season ain't over yet
dienblad: It wasn't on easy. But there are several reasons for this ownage: 1. I try to keep his race days down for the WC, he only had 63, while others had 80+. 2. I saw his stats have raised dramatically after the Vuelta, having 84(!) hill during the WC.
But I said before, this guy will be a legend, so he'll keep on winning. Sorry if that bores you.

HaRe: Only way to fly
maxime86: A team has signed him. I don't know myself yet, I'll have to look at other transfers first. (But it's definitely not sky, since they have Wiggins, Froome, Piquè and many others. Roberto would need a leader role) |

He is, after all, he became a legend
I thank you for your tips, as always it's very useful. But this is the one story where domination isn't necessarily a bad thing.
However, I try to report in a non-boring way. If my reports become boring, please do let me know! |

Gran Premio di Lombardia 2013
It doesn't happen much, fortunately, but there are those rare races when the race is over even before it began. Gran Premio di Lombardia 2013 was one of those races. It had been a long and tiresome season so far, and everyone was beat, waiting for a break. Roberto was on fire and 99% of all bets were on Roberto. It seems as though he couldn't have lost this race, even if he tried it.
And here he was, the fresh 23-year old World Champion!
Martin took a nasty fall, ruining his season ending.
And as it was predicted, Roberto went his way.
Roberto Velásquez:
Wearing this Rainbow Jersey is just amazing. Everyone respects you, it's just great. I love this race and I'm glad I can take a second win here. I can't wait for the Tour of Beijing!
However, Roberto never started at the Tour of Beijing, nor Japan Cup. His trainer at a press conference only 2 days after Gran Premio di Lombardia:
Roberto is severely ill. He needs absolute rest and won't ride a bike for two weeks. We hope he recovers in time to have a good winter. There are several reasons for this complete mental and physical breakdown, and we will take them into account for the future. The pressure from the outside world has been immensely and no 23-year old should handle such a stress. Another reason, but it connects to the first, is his way of racing. He and I both know he would've won in Lombardia if he attacked in the final descent, or went to the finish with Rodriguez. But he attacked 35km from the finish. The thing is, he does this all year round. No more questions, please. Roberto's season ended with a great win, that's all. |

Technical Update
I've transferred Roberto. The game crashed 2 PCM days later.
I will go back to a weekly save and keep Roberto in Colombia. I hope no one really minds this.
However, there are two options:
1. He makes the team great, and over the years I'll do some more good signings.
2. Look for a new sponsor and make lots of transfers so that it might as well be a new team (new riders, new jersey...)
What do you think? |
