Yeah, you got a great smell. I definitely hope you're right
Gotta go driving tonight though (tomorrow I have my exam to get my driver's license), but if I'm back early, I'll ride E3, otherwise tomorrow morning before the exam!
I hope your smell doesn't let me down! |

E3 Prijs - Harelbeke
Last year I came here to take a fall. Today I hope to return here to take a bow.
As expected, a couple of riders broke away, no real threats there.
It was Sky and BMC that worked to reel them back in. They did an excellent job controlling the pace.
I wasn't sure about my form, as my early season has been hell, but on De Muur, I felt it, I was in great shape!
De Muur had split the peloton up in small groups. My tactic of the day was to remain with Cancellara at all times if possible, so I was in the front group with him.
Heading to the Oude Kwaremont, I got dropped, due to being badly placed and a fall from an Accent Jobs - rider. But I wasn't worried, I was close to the front group and on the Kwaremont I could easily join them.
I did more than that! I went to the front of the group and on top of the Kwaremont, I felt they slowed a bit down, the tempo was gone. So I just started riding and to my surprise, no one reacted. If they didn't get organized soon, I might get away with it!
They didn't get organized, but Cancellara and Langeveld broke away and joined me.
And so we went into the final kilometers...
Langeveld tried to surprise us with a sprint from quite far out! He wants to win here for a second time in a row!
I reacted and dove left of Cancellara.
I passed Langeveld, who had come from too far and was burning out.
But Cancellara still had a surprise left and I saw him coming on my left, I gave it my all!
I managed to stay a few cm in front of him, it was killing me but I was holding him back!
VICTORY!
I did it! After a disappointing start, I strike 2 races in 3 days time. My first classic, E3 Prijs, what a beauty! I hope this is only the beginning of a wonderful career, because I'm definitely ready for more. I'm now in history, now I'm one of the guys that counts, maybe next time Cancellara's tactic will be to stay with me.

I'm extremely happy with this win. To be honest, I didn't see it coming. It's so great that both me and Eric are performing so well this season. I think we're capable of doing some great things in the future!
See you in another two days, for Gent - Wevelgem! |
