Only 1 stage win (wanted two), but it was really close.
The podium we have though, 2nd place overall for my team leader. And 5th in the special ranking, not too bad
Thanks for organising, The Rider, I had fun!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

All good idea.
But for future tour's I think I might keep that system where people have to post their rider lists and get their riders on a first come first serve basis, because it was so fun when that happened. Especially with Jesleyh posting his early! |

Ok, and be clear on what exact time next time
Just wanted to avoid the risk of posting late, so I posted too early at first

Still say the first come first served system is a terrible system, especially with certain restrictions

This worked better than I thought it would, but I change that people cannot list backup riders. Have a second time about an hour later for people to pick up replacements if they didn't get their first choices.

I agree with this 100%.
After all if we picked teams in a 'fair' manner, I doubt we would of started the race yet! |

I'm not sure about this system.
The reason why it worked (for me) this time is because it was mainly country-wise. Maybe you should do things like this again and reserve the top 3 of that country for the team with that nationality? If you understand what I mean? |

I would only reserve the best one, otherwise there might be no-one left for fast guys.
But it's sometimes hard to decide which guys are the best, especially with complicated restrictions. But yeah.
Another idea would be to draft the first 2 guys(the 2 leaders), and after that, set a time to pick the other 7 guys.
Not drafting all, because the picks will vary a lot after that, and it'd take way too long.
So just deciding a draft order with random.org, set a time-limit to let the guys send their list in, and go from the top to the bottom to give everyone their first pick available on their list.
For round 2, turn the list around, and continue(Look at UCPCL )

If you do want the same sort of system then you need stronger nationality restrictions (minimum half squad one nation) and no back-ups allowed.
Also a wider range of potential leaders would be better, or less (i.e. only ever 1 per team)
Or do it in 2-3 sets. Set 1 for 2 leaders, Sets 2+3 for rest of team.

That is not at all fair. Since I am 5-6 hours behind, I have that handicap, as I will get home that much later. this puts me and anyone else outside the standard timezone at a major disadvanage.

Well, maybe an idea to put some cyclists two times in the game?
Or create the teams by yourself but only show the jerseys. Only you know the selection of the teams and it could be fun to see what riders are in your team. Or everybody sent their team in a pm and there will be a lottery about who get which riders. I think that's more fair than 'the first one who post got his riders'.
