Why is Evans out in front of the peloton? Strange.
Edit: nevermind.

Wiggins rides across the gap...does he need to show his strength after yesterday? Or is Sky too weak?

Annoying tactic from Sky. Awful tactic, actually. They had Boasson Hagen with Evans' group. He would easily have won the stage if would have been allowed to be with the group, then he could've "rested." Instead he drops back to Wiggins, pulls back 1'20 on Evans/Nibali group, only for Wiggins to jump across, and isolate himself.
Horrible tactic, just horrible. |

So would a better tactic have been to let Evans and co gain time on Wiggins, just so EBH could win the stage? Dont see the sense in that for Sky

Looking to be a nice finish, but I agree with Ember. Unnecessary. It would be better that Porte and Rogers helped Wiggo, and EBH could just relax with Evans and Nibali. Then Wiggo wouldn't have been isolated.

The stupid move was Wiggins bridging by himself. Stopping EBH was okay imo, they could have let him stay with Evans/Nibbles a bit more, but it'd be (a bit) riskier. I'm enjoying the hilarity of this tough, a stupidly bad designed Dauphiné stage is being better than the first 19 stages of the Giro put together.

That wasn't what I was saying. But Sky had a lot of helpers there, which clearly wasn't dead. Froome, Porte, Rogers and Siutsou (?). And Froome/Porte were clearly not dead. And Boasson Hagen hasn't suddenly turned into superman in the mountains, he pulled back more than a minute on his own, I'm pretty sure Froome, Porte, Rogers and Siutsou (?) could have done that too.
Why not just use them to bridge the gap, and let Boasson Hagen rest for the sprint? But it looks like it's all back together now, at least between the riders highest up on the GC. |

Since when was working for your leader a horrible tactic? |

He had other team mates there, who all should be stronger climbers than Boasson Hagen. And as kumazan says, having Wiggins' jump away from them was just ridiculous.
But looks like they're in complete control now, but it will be an interesting finale, lots of riders must want the stage win. |

Evans and Nibali in front, Wiggins in a reduced peloton with Europcar doing the pacemaking a little bit behind with 31km left.

I think Nibali or Evans could pretty well gain minutes on Wiggo in July riding downhill.Sky should master their tactics a bit more in next weeks or the will be pretty confused than, even more with half of the team dedicated to Cavendish.

Sky does have a disadvantage, they'll have to work TDF round the clock, for Cav and Wig |
