La Fleche Wallonne
After a good result by Albasini at Amstel Gold we´re expecting another great race by him any maybe he can reach the Top10 today?
We sent a stronger team this time while Siutsou will help Albasini, too together with Velits!La Flecha Wallone isn´t that hard as Amstel Gold was but I think it will be more intensive. We´re looking forward to the last hilly section which will show if Valverde could show his strength or if his shape isn´t really well at the moment.I´ll post another preliminary report about the favorites tomorrow!
Team Columbia for La Fleche Wallonne
Peter Velits
Martin Velits
Michael Albasini
Gert Dockx
Craig Lewis
Marco Pinotti
Kanstantsin Siutsou

Let´s talk about the favorites!
After the Amstel Gold Race I think we are able to call the biggest favorites for today. For us Alejandro Valverde should be the best when it comes to a sprint but Phillipe Gilbert showed an amazing performance a few days ago.Team Saxobank is also there with a strong team-squad.I´m not sure if they will ride for Andy or Fränk Schleck but I think it should be Andy but we´ll see that..
Another big favorite should be Damiano Cunego after he got the second place in Amstel Gold missing the victory in a close finish against Gilbert.Another great team-quad was sent by Katusha with Rodriguez as their team-captain and Ivanov,Kolobnev and Kim Kirchen as great puncheurs ,too. These riders should be the biggest favorites but don´t underestimate Jens Voigt,Nibali or Albasini
Here´s a list of the favorites for La Flecha Wallone
Phillipe Gilbert
Damiano Cunego
Alejandro Valverde
Andy Schleck
Fränk Schleck
Joaquim Rodriguez
Sergej Ivanov
Jens Voigt |

La Fleche Wallonne
La Fleche Wallone is the next one-day classic for our team after the Amstel Gold Race a few days ago. We´re optimistic that Albasini can get a good result and mabye a Top 10 position? The big favorites are Valverde,Cunego and Gilbert
There were many escapes today but no one of them was dangerous for us or other teams! They were brought back to the peloton with more than 20 kilometres to go
With more than 13 kilometres to go Lövkvist was the first making a move
But he wasn´t alone!Nocentini,Andy Schleck,Pinau and Albasini went after him
On the downhill Gilbert could reach the first group after an attack
While Lövkvist was still in front with only 2,4 kilometres to go Albasini could stay in his chasing group with Gilbert,Andy Schleck.Valverde and Cunego were not there!
With only 2 kilometres to go Pineau started another attack. Can he reach Lövkvist?
Popovych,Gilbert and Ivanov tried to counter that but if this will be successful?Albasini cannot follow for the moment
Last kilometre and Pineau has already passed Lövkvist!
Albasini could not hang on there, the gap to Pineau,Lövkvist and the others becomes bigger
The sprint begins on the final climb which seems to be unbelievable hard!Pineau is still in front while Lövkvist can reach him again!Gilbert is really fast on the left side while Ivanov and Popovych are behind them
It´s an amazing sprint finish! No one knows the winner of La Fleche Wallonne 2010 until the photofinish
The photofinish shows that Phillipe Gilbert takes his next great win! After his great performance in Amstel Gold he can also take the win in Belgium!!Lövkvist is the poor one in the end he becomes second in front of Pineau.Albasini could not reach the Top 10;he even missed the Top 15!In the end we cannot be happy with his 16 th position

Liege-Bastogne-Liege
Well, after two great one-day classic in the Netherlands and Belgium the biggest question seems to be if Gilbert can take the third win in a row after his great performances in Amstel Gold and La Fleche Wallonne?
Well we changed our team-sqaud just a little bit while Albasini is still our captain with Siutsou and Peter Velits as his main help.Lars Ytting Bak is one of the new team-mates there just like Rabon and Van Garderen. If Albasini can get a postition around the 10th position is not sure up to here because the list of all favorites for today´s win became bigger and bigger especially after La Fleche Wallone
Team Columbia for Liege-Bastogne-Liege
Michael Albasini
Peter Velits
Tejay Van Garderen
Lars Ytting Bak
Kanstantsin Siutsou
Marco Pinotti
Jan Ghyselinck
Frantisek Rabon |

Let´s talk about the favorites!
Well, what should I say?The biggest favorite must be Alejandro Valverde..bla,bla,bla,bla,bla it´s always the same thing!I tell you he´s the greatest favorite for today´s race and then he cannot show his strength...
But I will still do that!He must be the man to beat today and in every hilly race he will ride in the future.Well,if he will disappoint another time today?Maybe we should call another great rider as biggest favorite today, but who?
Haha no question that must be the Belgian Phillipe Gilbert. He won the Amstel Gold Race on a impressive way and he even took La Fleche Wallonne after he were behind but in a close sprint finish against Lövkvist and Pineau he could persuade again. So the only thing I can say is that there are many riders who can take the win there in Liege. Our team hopes to get mabye a Top 10 result with Albasini but as I already said the competition is great and especially strange
Here´s a list of the "favorites" for Liege-Bastogne-Liege
Phillipe Gilbert
Alejandro Valverde
Damiano Cunego
Thomas Lövkvist
Sergej Ivanov
Joaquim Rodriguez
Andy Schleck
Fränk Schleck
Jens Voigt
Jerome Pineau
Vincenzo Nibali
Yaroslav Popovych |

Liege-Bastogne-Liege
It´s a long long race today with many hard parts.Especially the last part of the race should be important for many teams. We will try to hang on as long as we can to bring Albasini mabye in a final sprint against his rivals
Again, there were many escapes but no important names. They had no chance against the pack
With more than 35 kilometres to go, on one of the hardest climbs today, Cunego made his move as first
But he couldn´t get away on his own because Alejandro Valverde went after him prompt
Just a few moments later Gilbert attacked on the same climb while many others were making a move such as Lövkvist,Barredo,Pineau,Brushegin and many more
Next one was Albasini but he came with Andy Schleck on his backwheel
With 10 kilometres to go,there was a leading group with Valverde,Rodriguez,Gilbert,Cunego,Popovych,Voigt,Nibali and Pineau while Albasini could not stay at the front he was 2 minutes behind in one group with Luis Leon Sanchez
On the last 2,6 kilometres to go the group became smaller and they were all gambling now!
But then on the last metres Valverde started an attack while Pineau tried to follow him.Oh..if Valverde can take the win today?
Yes,he can!!Unbelievable,I even thought about to delete him from the favorites list but today he could prove his strength.Pineau takes the second place and another podium these days
He should be the man of the week!Phillipe Gilbert takes the third place after two victories!Albasini could not make us happy today he only became 20th

Wow. I must say the results are pretty unrealistic, Pineau, Voigt, Popo up there.

Well,Pineau showed a good shape in La Fleche Wallonne so it was no surprise that he can repeat this performance |
