Roberto Velásquez: The Story of A Legend |
FreitasPCM
Let's get 2/2 in Roberto's GT history! Pfft I hope he goes to a Spanish team, Movistar my preference. Pfft

tovhol
Since Roberto is moving to an another team, will that say that you gonna lead an another team next year then?
If it is that, how?

Wild Dog: I'll wait until all other transfers are done, and then I'll decide Smile

JuanMotr: Samu is with another team already Wink

FreitasPCM: We'll see what team, but Movistar is definitely a candidate, since they're lacking a true leader atm Smile

tovhol: I'll change team also, with the Fast Editor!

tovhol
How do you change team in the Fast Editor?
And check "Tovhols Avatars and Minishirts".
I have some cool avatars there Wink

Vuelta a España 2013 - Stage 2 - 5

Stage 2

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/v201.jpg

Quickstep had a lot of confidence in the oldest Schleck brother, as they worked hard all day.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/v202.jpg

Nearing the end, a group of riders (including Porte) broke away.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/v203.jpg

Schleck directly followed.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/v204.jpg

On the final climb, Roberto himself got up front.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/v205.jpg

He started his sprint from far out, and what a speed it was!

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/v206.jpg

A great victory for Roberto, who also took the leader's jersey.

He had lost the jersey. But Roberto was optimistic:

I think it's even better for the team at the moment. With me being the top favorite here, they have work enough as it is. I'll try to attack the leader on the first mountain stages. I feel confident about myself, though. I'm in a great shape and I know I can bring this Vuelta to a good end!

fernando97's great Spidertech-story (https://pcmdaily.com/forum/viewthread....d_id=24320) just reached 10.000 views. And so I noticed this story has recently reached 10.000 views too. Thank you all very much for following Wink

Wild Dog
Great win there. As he mentions it is probably best not to get the jersey to early. So this is good.

I think he would be great in any French WT team like AG2R or FDJ. It's a bit like Colombia coldeportes but Europe witch makes it better

Great win, Roberto looks really good on the early slopes. Smile Oh, and thanks for advertising my story. Grin

Ian Butler
Wild Dog: Yeah, I agree. He'll get it in the end, hopefully Wink

Daggen: Maybe. Much will depend on other transfers, where are the big leaders and where are strong domestiques Wink

the_hoyle, francopell: Thanks!

fernando97: A great story is always worth mentioning Wink

Wild Dog
Another idea could be to make Colombia Coldeportes a great team. Maybe sign Quintana, Uran and Henao??

Vuelta a España 2013 - Stage 6 - 8

Stage 6

Was Roberto planning to attack here today, or was he biding his time?

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp601-1.jpg

Teammate Txurruka was the only breakaway of the day. It would be a tough day for him, the wind was strong and the road was long, but he didn't give up.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp602-1.jpg

Roberto was a great leader, and decided not to attack, because that might risk Txurruka's chances. He just peddled along.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp603-1.jpg

He did more than that, he neutralized all other attacks.

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp604-1.jpg

Txurruka took a great win, his third of the season (after two in Dauphiné), after a 158km solo!

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp605-1.jpg

The final sprint for the second place was on!

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp606-1.jpg

i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh490/IanButlerPCM/sp607-1.jpg

Roberto made it a 1 - 2 for the team.

I'm very happy for Amets [Txurruka], he's a hard worker and he deserves this more than anybody. It was a great day for the team, this Vuelta is getting better and better!

This Vuelta had already been very generous to Roberto and the team. But as always, Roberto wanted more, and with two mountain stages coming up, this would prove to be an exciting time to be around!
