Let's get 2/2 in Roberto's GT history! I hope he goes to a Spanish team, Movistar my preference. |

Since Roberto is moving to an another team, will that say that you gonna lead an another team next year then?
If it is that, how?

Wild Dog: I'll wait until all other transfers are done, and then I'll decide
JuanMotr: Samu is with another team already
FreitasPCM: We'll see what team, but Movistar is definitely a candidate, since they're lacking a true leader atm
tovhol: I'll change team also, with the Fast Editor! |

Vuelta a España 2013 - Stage 2 - 5
Stage 2
Quickstep had a lot of confidence in the oldest Schleck brother, as they worked hard all day.
Nearing the end, a group of riders (including Porte) broke away.
Schleck directly followed.
On the final climb, Roberto himself got up front.
He started his sprint from far out, and what a speed it was!
A great victory for Roberto, who also took the leader's jersey.

Roberto already held the lead in the Vuelta, but with an upcoming Team Time Trial, he knew he wouldn't hold on to it very long.

He had lost the jersey. But Roberto was optimistic:
I think it's even better for the team at the moment. With me being the top favorite here, they have work enough as it is. I'll try to attack the leader on the first mountain stages. I feel confident about myself, though. I'm in a great shape and I know I can bring this Vuelta to a good end! |

Great win there. As he mentions it is probably best not to get the jersey to early. So this is good.

I think he would be great in any French WT team like AG2R or FDJ. It's a bit like Colombia coldeportes but Europe witch makes it better |

Wild Dog: Yeah, I agree. He'll get it in the end, hopefully
Daggen: Maybe. Much will depend on other transfers, where are the big leaders and where are strong domestiques
the_hoyle, francopell: Thanks!

Another idea could be to make Colombia Coldeportes a great team. Maybe sign Quintana, Uran and Henao??

Wild Dog: I had been thinking about that, but I'd like to have him change teams once in a while, I never changed teams with a rider before, I'd like that for once

Vuelta a España 2013 - Stage 6 - 8
Stage 6
Was Roberto planning to attack here today, or was he biding his time?
Teammate Txurruka was the only breakaway of the day. It would be a tough day for him, the wind was strong and the road was long, but he didn't give up.
Roberto was a great leader, and decided not to attack, because that might risk Txurruka's chances. He just peddled along.
He did more than that, he neutralized all other attacks.
Txurruka took a great win, his third of the season (after two in Dauphiné), after a 158km solo!
The final sprint for the second place was on!
Roberto made it a 1 - 2 for the team.
I'm very happy for Amets [Txurruka], he's a hard worker and he deserves this more than anybody. It was a great day for the team, this Vuelta is getting better and better!
Result
1 | Amets Txurruka | Colombia Coldeportes | 4h24'42 | IanButler | 2 | Roberto Velásquez | Colombia Coldeportes | + 1'54 | IanButler | 3 | Vincenzo Nibali | Liquigas-Cannondale | s.t. | | 4 | Thomas De Gendt | Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | | 5 | Daniel Martin | Team Garmin-Barracuda | s.t. | | 6 | David López GarcÃa | Movistar Team | s.t. | | 7 | Denis Menchov | Katusha Team | s.t. | | 8 | Juan José Cobo Acebo | Movistar Team | s.t. | | 9 | Tejay Van Garderen | BMC Racing Team | s.t. | | 10 | Fränk Schleck | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | s.t.
Stage 7
All we know is that a breakaway made it to the finish. Results seem to have been mysteriously lost.
Stage 8
1 | Marcel Kittel | Team Argos-Shimano | 3h36'41 | | 2 | André Greipel | Lotto Belisol | s.t. | | 3 | Heinrich Haussler | Team Garmin-Barracuda | s.t. | | 4 | Tom Veelers | Team Argos-Shimano | s.t. | | 5 | John Degenkolb | Team Argos-Shimano | s.t. | | 6 | José Joaquin Rojas Gil | Movistar Team | s.t. | | 7 | Matthew Goss | Orica-GreenEDGE | s.t. | | 8 | Peter Sagan | Liquigas-Cannondale | s.t. | | 9 | Theo Bos | Rabobank Cycling Team | s.t. | | 10 | Manuel Cardoso | Caja Rural | s.t.
General Classification after a week:
1 | Janez Brajkovic | Astana Pro Team | 23h24'33 | | 2 | Roberto Velásquez | Colombia Coldeportes | + 10 | IanButler | 3 | Daniel Martin | Team Garmin-Barracuda | + 14 | | 4 | Juan José Cobo Acebo | Movistar Team | + 25 | | 5 | Alejandro Valverde | Movistar Team | + 29 | | 6 | Thomas De Gendt | Vacansoleil-DCM Pro Cycling Team | + 33 | | 7 | Fränk Schleck | Omega Pharma-Quick-Step Cycling Team | + 34 | | 8 | Jelle Vanendert | Lotto Belisol | + 54 | | 9 | Denis Menchov | Katusha Team | + 55 | | 10 | Tejay Van Garderen | BMC Racing Team | + 1'07
This Vuelta had already been very generous to Roberto and the team. But as always, Roberto wanted more, and with two mountain stages coming up, this would prove to be an exciting time to be around! |
