4.Which rider, eligible for U25s classification, will finish highest in the GC in their home Grand Tour (currently Davide Formolo, 10th in Giro)?
I think you misunderstood the question. Can only be an Italian, French or Sapnish rider.
lol its starting in dusseldorf and i go with a german rider i'm an idiot, formolo i will stick.
Emre, I implied that Buchmann wasn't allowed without saying that exactly
Maybe you just miss-heard, it's okay.
My predictions are as follows:
1. Fernando Gaviria
2. Quickstep
3. Vincenzo Nibali
4. Davide Formolo
5. Jan Hirt
Isnt it clear enough, i will say formolo.

Having reached the first rest day, let us take a look at how the predictors are getting on in this race.
Perennial favourite and top pick for the Points Jersey Sagan was DQ'd on Stage 4 after a controversial 'elbow' incident which saw Cavendish crash and retire too. Alejandro Valverde, another favourite among members, was a Stage 1 retiree after crashing in the ITT. Richie Porte suffered a horror crash on Stage 9 and has retired from what looked like his best chance till date of mounting a challenge for the Tour win. Dan Martin was involved in the same crash but luckily did not suffer the same fate. Geraint Thomas too, was a Stage 9 retiree, although he was not picked by any Daily member. Two top picks, Contador and Quintana are both struggling, with the former finding himself out of the top 10, while Nairo Quintana is only 8th at the moment.
At the end of Stage 9, Croatia is the only member with all his picks still in the race. What's more, four of his picks are in the top 7 in the GC. Only Jandal and Croatia, again, remain in contention for the Points classification, them being the only ones not having picked Sagan. Aquarius's shrewd pick of Calmejane led the KOM standings for a stage but has been replaced by Barguil, the latter not picked by anyone. Simon Yates leads the U25s and is also the most popular pick to win that classification with four picks.

Kind of ironic that my biggest bold prediction is the only one (apart from U25 which was a easy one) that is going to give me some points in this race

Top 5
1) Chris Froome
2) Rigoberto Uran
3) Romain Bardet
4) Mikel Landa
5) Fabio Aru
KOM - Warren Barguil
Points - Michael Matthews
U25 - Simon Yates
Surprise, Surprise! Chris Froome takes another TDF victory and it's good news for all but two of our predictors. Top pick Richie Porte crashed out early. Alberto Contador and Nairo Quintana never seemed to be in the running! No picks for surprise package Uran - if only Croatia had listened to his instincts. Four pick Bardet delivered his promises and ensured a solid haul for four members. Aquarius was the only member who chanced a pick on Landa and it bore fruit. Aru was another rider with a single backer, Croatia's urge to be different paying dividends here. In fact, the latter narrowly missed out on further points with Martin and Yates finishing 6th and 7th respectively.
As far as the other classifications go, no one picked Barguil for the KOM and no one else came close to competing for this classification. Jandal and Croatia picked Matthews for the Green jersey, a bold choice, while all others went for Sagan. It looked for a long time that Kittel would take this classification but his withdrawal handed it to Matthews, and points to our duo. Four members were rewarded for their pick of Simon Yates winning the U25s classification.
Croatia (again!), Raziz and AbhishekLFC guessed the bonus question correctly, that the number of breakaway wins would be between 3 and 5. There were four in this race - Calmejane on Stage 8, Mollema on Stage 15, Roglic on Stage 17 and EBH on Stage 19.
After all this, we can finally take a look at how the table now stands:
Name | Races Entered | Bonuses | Total Points | Raziz | 25 | 290 | 895 | jandal7 | 24 | 260 | 815 | Selwink | 25 | 285 | 805 | AbhishekLFC | 24 | 220 | 770 | Marcovdw | 25 | 185 | 745 | purepasd | 24 | 210 | 735 | Aquarius | 19 | 160 | 690 | emre99 | 24 | 200 | 650 | Croatia14 | 25 | 160 | 385 | Ian Butler | 6 | 50 | 245 | Luxemburger | 7 | 90 | 165 | Squire | 4 | 60 | 100 | trekbmc | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Jandal wins this round. He correctly guessed three of the four classification and picks up 120 points. Had he picked Barguil for the KOM, he would have doubled his points tally. Raziz and AbhishekLFC round out a close podium with a 115 point haul each in this round.
Jandal's win propels him up two places. He now sits in 2nd. Raziz sits even more comfortably at the top of the standings. Selwink drops a place after a low score while Purepasd's absence is punished with a three place slip down the rankings. AbhishekLFC leapfrogs Marco and Purepasd into 4th, with a sizeable lead to boot. Aquarius loses some ground to those above him and allows Emre to catch up just a bit after a bad round. Croatia keeps fighting a lone battle, ahead of another absentee, Ian.
The number of people having participated in every race this season is now down to four members!
Stayed tuned as we will be opening entries tomorrow for three more races which are scheduled later this week.

What? I count Mollema and EBH as breakaway wins and probably not but possibly Matthews #2
Also, you all really, really suck if a guy who picked Porte and Valverde, not to mention Quintana and Chaves, wins the race

How far out did these guys attack? Couldn't follow the last week much, so not sure...
Also, you got lucky with Matthews

Well Mollema and EBH both simply from morning break. Matthews was from a peloton split very early on after not many kilometres but in a big group that was arguably the peloton until more winds ripped it apart so probably not a breakaway. But should be 4.
Also, it was an informed decision based on that I had a feeling about Sagan and I viewed Matthews as the next best (though he did surprise me)
