What a fantastic win, absolutely deserved!
But again, that camera work. It's been annoying me all weekend, and if they don't get it better tomorrow, I might throw stuff at my tv
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Really quality win by Armitstead. Would have loved to see E-Jo take it but she did far too less to deserve a medal this time around.
The way it was raced I almost don't think it mattered who won as they all put on such a good show, the only way the men could come close is if it's wet and the field is shred to pieces. Have to hand it to the organises as they have really designed a great racing parcour
I look forward to the UCI changes to women cycling, it'll be a real option to watch some great racing when the men bore us to the finish line and also we might finally get an exciting Fleche Wallone on TV again with the women.
Anna Van der Breggen looks so sad, she needs a hug.

Very deserved win. Too bad I wasn't here to see it. But it sounds like it was an amazing race.
There's hope for tomorrow, yet! |

Definitely, I think this is the first women's race I watch and its surprisingly good, apart from the boring sprints before Paris and Madrid.. I dont think I will ever be pumped about it, but its some mighty fine racing.
And what? Roflmao.
Uuh damn, you edited it before I quoted it somehow. But you would like that, wouldnt you, you creep. |

Lots of Mapei advertisement by the way on the scene. Are there any rumours of a possible team-sponsor return of Mapei? That'd be ubersweet.

Great race! I need to watch more women's racing, whenever I find the time it seems to be excellent racing. Perfect time to put on a show and get everyone interested before the incoming changes to women's racing too. |

You are more than welcome to rant here Aiden and it is clearly a mess of a selection, following you're progress has been great and yeah I think without being biased that you deserved a spot on the squad. I can understand why you are annoyed but I can also understand why the other rider was selected ahead of you, it is good for cycling in you're country that black riders are getting involved and this was obviously one way of promoting this to that community. The problem with this when it comes to selection is that as you stated there is no quota system in place so in this particular case you have every right to feel wronged as you did exactly what was required to earn you're spot so yeah it is unfair, maybe you need to speak up and voice you're concerns so this can be avoided in future and if they have a unofficial quota in place then they need to make it official and if they don't then they should drop it because it's not fair on the riders
Do you really think a quota system is legitimate in the first place? So a worse athlete should be selected because they have the needed skin color? I mean that is crazy, obviously SA has some very deep racial issues that add multiple levels to this situation but if he was a black rider and he was told a white guy was chosen over him I doubt you would say the same thing. |

He wouldn't have to then though?

No. Squinzi will not go back to another sport with Sassuolo in Serie A.

I would love to say this course was amazing as its great Richmond is hosting but this course is just pointless. The climbs are easy and there is way to much rest after they are over for it to matter, with the 600m of flat after the easiest of the 3 climbs to the finish I just dont see why it makes sense.
I will watch the last couple laps but why race for 250km when only the last 100m matters? |

Yeah I do think a quota is legitimate in some cases and I'm not just talking about sport, quota systems have been proven to increase participation in the long term in many different areas provided they are set up correctly so when looking at the bigger picture I agree with them. I don't agree when an unofficial quota that is in place which is what appears to have happened with Aiden, that's just plain unfair because he was working for a spot that was effectively already taken and he didn't know this. As I said they need to make it official so everybody knows what's going on or they should drop it

It's not the greatest worlds course we've seen but it's pretty damn good, I don't mind that we will see some type of reduced sprint in the men's (unless it rains heavily then who knows) Cophenhagen was flat but still a good race, last years was punchy and not that good. I think if the riders on and a couple of teams decide to go all out to break it up for the strongmen then we could have fireworks. But I do agree watching it for the whole 250 ks would be a real chore but we could say that about any Men's WC RR, they usually aren't the most exciting races until the last few laps
