So tomorrow the stage will finish in La Zubia.

Will be very interesting. There's so many strong guys in this vuelta.
Aru, Kelderman, Evans, D. Martin, Barguil, Purito, Moreno, Piti, Quintana, Poels, Urán, Cháves, Froome and Contador to name a few.
This will create a lot more gaps than expected I think. Tough, tough climb after 4 days in 40 degrees. Its hard to project who will lose time tomorrow, but if I should place a bet I would go for Urán losing at least a minute. Italians dont have great traditions in doing the Vuelta double either, so I also expect Aru to lose quite a bit. I dont think Contador have whats necessary either at this point, he could also lose a lot of time over the last couple of kilometres. Same goes for Hesjedal, Sanchez and Evans who I expect to lose a good amount.
I expect Chaves, Dan Martin, Quintana and Rodriguez to do really well. |

Agree with you, Riis, what do you think about Gesink and Kelderman? And what about froome.exe en Zubeldianonymous? |

Ooh, I almost forgot to predict the downfall of the Belkins. My bad
Just kidding. I think Ten Dam is rather empty, he won't do much for himself, but I think he should be a fine helper and possibly the 3rd man on Belkin for the team classification (If Gesink is doing well). Dno about Gesink, I feel like he is a lottery. Kelderman is a natural and I expect him to do just fine, question if is he can keep up in 3 weeks after a hard year (If i remember correctly, he wasn't that good in the 3rd week of the Giro either).
But really, I dont think i know much more than you. The Vuelta's first mountain stages are often a complete lottery.. I am somehow gutted that Arredondo didn't choose to at least TRY to stay in contention, because as with guys from the Tour likeVan den Broeck, Pinot and Ten Dam, I have a hard time seeing a guy like Zubeldia doing anything else than possibly creeping into the top-10, at the very best. Valverde is the exception here I feel as he has great traditions in the Vuelta and comp eats from Ruta del Sol to WC, but as he has shown so far, I dont think he will be more than a super domestique for Nairo, although I could see him sneak into the top-5. |

Ten Dam says he's getting better, he is like a Diesel .
But the finish tomorrow is too explosive for him. Kelderman and Gesink seem good but not top 5 good. Indeed, we'll see. Will be very interesting to see who copes with the weather the best. After a few hot days some guys might be aching.
Belkin going for the team GC I think by the way, very realistic. |

I think one thing is for sure: If Gesink wants to get a top-10 even, he gotta invent himself. |

I meant to write reinvent, like somewhat get back to what he used to be, or at least relatively close because it will be difficult to ride a good GC in this field. |

I want Sanchez to do well, i think not losing much time would be a success for him as he will get better as the 3 weeks go on...

Lokking at the sprint, thought Degenkolb had something to answer for. Watched a second time and realised there was nothing in it.
Keen for tomorrow's first real GC stage. |

Actually, he's fresh compared to almost everyone else, and I bet he's also eager and motivated to show some good results again. I wouldn't be shocked to see him in top10, or near that (top15) at the end of Vuelta. |

Finally a mountain top finish! I don't think any of the big three (Quintana, Froome, Contador) will lose much (if any) time today, but I expect Quintana to test the others since he is better prepared and Froome and Contador may need a little longer to be at their best after injuries again. Unless Valverde is ahead in a strong move, making Quintana just follow the rest behind. |

Don´t you think that Contador is good? I mean, he is in the front of the pack and he seems to be very well...

Actually I think Conta is in the front because of paranoia as he doesn't want to fall again. Even though I like him I think he'll fight with Dan Martin for 5th place after Quintana, Froome, Valverde and Purito. |

Contador has a way better shape than i thought in this Vuelta.
But he will lose some time, anyway, mianly in the first stages of Mountain because he is still quite injured. |

I think he's fine, and won't be surprised if he attacks as well. But since there are question marks until he's proved himself in the mountains his opponents should want to test him no? |
