New Cycling Game Project

Totally fair discussion guys Smile i just want to clarify the price point. It will only be priced at 50€ if the amount of content and quality is justified by that price. Right now it can end up anywhere from 5€ to 50€.

When regards to the trust, of course that is key to making this a succes. I think everyone will feel more involved in the project when we launch our website and community forums Smile

To expand on my previous post: I dont expect anyone to support us based on a boxart and some promises. Thats why we will showcare the game in various fashions, like:
- Screenshots
- Developer commentaries
- Interviews
- CrueTrue and various people from the community will be invited to play the game before our kickstarter and report their impressions to the public.
etc.
That and much more is on the way for the project. Forgive us for not having any of that ready yet but the kickstarter and the game is still far off (2015 earliest), so we prefer to focus on the game and build it in a slow but steady pace Smile

And just to comment on the whole "indie" thing. I personally feel that word creates a lot of confusion because most people expect indie games to be Angry Birds or other low budget 1$ games for their smartphones.
Indie Developer = Independent Developer
it has nothing to do with price only how the game is developed. Being independent allows us to reinforce our creative vision for the game without having to "dump-down" or otherwise limit the depth of the game to appeal to a wider audience. When the game is complete we will determine a price that gives everyone value for their money. That said we are looking to create a huge PC game on par and beyond other manager games on the market (hence the expected 50€ price point Wink )

Few questions if I may.

Will it be less bug free than previous PCMs? Have had the original, 2007, 2009 & 2011 & it seems that there were some very bad bugs in each (especially 2011 where it would hang on loading a stage) which made it too frustrating to play.

Also, will the places look more like the places that they are supposed to be? i.e. Adelaide (where I live) TDU looking like the TDU etc rather than just generic buildings and trees?

As it is more focused on career, I wouldn't think initial resources would be going to 3 details like that, but I could be wrong.

Since we are not restricted by a speciic deadline like PCM or Cyanide i think it is safe to assume that every game breaking bug will be dead before release. I myself want to play this game very badly so i am not shipping a product before i am satisfied with the result.

I can't promise you will see much improvement in the variation of the scenery, focus will be on the gameplay (great AI, mechanics etc). Everyone working on the project is doing it "for free" and its tough to gather lets say 10 or 20 graphical artists to make the graphical variation needed to see the difference between Adelaide and Cairns Wink

But trust me if we had the ressources or knew 10 people that shared our passion and wanted to help us out we would be knocking everything out of the park graphically.

Short update on the project Smile
Website has suffered a minor delay as we decided to change our forum template and use another more feature rich template. The website will still launch in Q2 2014 as planned, currently i expect it to happen in april/may.

Game development progressing as normal. Everyone have a nice week Smile

spend a lot of time on the fitness mechanics lately:, can say for sure that seeing your captain miss his peak for the Tour de France is a very tough experience as a manager Angry

Very realistic feature that. Every year you have a few riders who are expected to finish strong in the Tour, but end up having a bad race and not featuring as much as expected. It's not because the rider lacks skill, but it can be because they are either over-trained or under-prepared and thus aren't in peak form.

It will come for sure, but I want to show off the game in a big way when it finally happens Smile too much "not final" stuff in the game right now.

Happy to hear that others find that mechanic important as well. As a player you will have tools to manage your riders fitness and try to get them back on track if they fall behind schedule or come ahead. Coaches might warn you that certain riders are perfoming below expectations and then its up to you to use the tools available to get every rider back to their best Smile
