Yep, back to racing on 14th July 2013. I guess he'll target Vuelta.

The World Championship should suit him. Though he won't have any teammates

Trek set to become head sponsor of Radioshack for 2014. Cancellara will stay with the team. Becca wants a high price for the license though.

Thank you for making my grammar mistake even more visible
Also, just saw that he wasn't even fired in the first place. Pathetic.

He can ride in whatever team kit he wants to, what matters is how he got it.

Guys, he's clearly innocent. Why aren't you listening to what Andy has been saying? Frank clearly got the xipamide from food poisoning...
It's Valverde and Movistar all over again.

At least they had the decency to "fire" him

Vacansoleil's management is trying really hard to get their bike supplier Bianchi on board as their main sponsor, at least that's what I'm thinking when you look at their PR for the last month.
30 minutes ago another article on the Vacansoleil website about the Bianchi brand in the US during the ATOC. In my opinion VCD riding in their Bianchi celeste outfit was another attempt at persuading their bike supplier. Same with the team's recent promo videos for the Bianchi bike in these youtube clip: https://www.youtu...PN5OQuPOE, https://youtu.be/C... as well as: https://www.vacans...crono.html
The team stated they want a new sponsor before the Tour. Aren't teams only allowed to one new jersey during a season? If that's the case, the only sponsor they can still show during the Tour would be Bianchi, and the case would be clear. Either way, serious PR from the team's side, I'm hoping it leads to something. It would probably mean they need to sign more Italians but I don't think too many, as Bianchi is already a bike sponsor for some Italian teams. If Vacansoleil stays on as co-sponsor, the influx of Italians will probably be limited.
Other than sponsorship troubles, the team still has to worry about their WT license at the end of the year, and its position on the UCI ranking is not looking good right now... so even if the team doesn't disappear, they might just be forced back in to PCT.
Edit: 3 minutes ago another Bianchi video tweeted by Marco Marcato... it's getting annoying lol

Merida, Cannondale, Trek and Bianchi all becoming head sponsor of a team in half a year is not good for cycling

Merida is a head sponsor of what team? Lampre is still the main sponsor. |

Apparently it's legal for him to ride in it, but he can't have any business with a team, so he shouldn't be offered a team kit, he can't take part into team events, etc.
Now, given they didn't even fire him, I don't know how that applies to him.
No big deal though. |

They are not long-term sponsors. Lotto, Rabobank, Lampre, Euskaltel, Cofidis, omega pharma, quick-step, Francaise des jeux are the long term sponsors from the last 15 years. None of them is a bicycle company.
Cervelo is the best example. They were absolutely thrilled with having an own team but didin't have the money for it. They then tried as a second sponsor but even that did'nt go.
