"If there were 200 referees by the line they would have seen it..."
Seriously isn't football ridiculous? At least in cycling the authorities seek justice. In football the infractors get away unspunished even with all the ways to spot them. This makes me sick...
As a (American) Football fan you know I'm going to say it....wait for it....wait for it....instant replay. Even if they just instituted it for offsides it would have disallowed the goal. I know the soccer doesn't stop the way football does, but if you could do it quickly I think it would be a good addition.
they always have like 2 or 3 referee's doing nothing at international games, a video replay of things inside the penalty box would do more good than it would bad. Especially for goals that just cross the line and massive dives.
Also on this topic, this is the kind of attitude i hate about football and exactly why i quit playing it in favor of rugby.
In the press conferences after the game, everyone including the Irish players and coaches are blaming the referees' for the loss. Henry cheated, and people blame the refs for not picking it up. I know it is the attitude of the sport but its disgusting.

Agreed. I'm tired of the old speech about "there should be room for mistakes" and/or "it's the charm of football!".

I wonder what Platini will say:
he won't say anything because he is french. he'll try to brush it under the carpet.
wouldn't surprise me if the ref saw exactly what happened but allowed the goal because he was under orders from FIFA to make sure France qualify.
there can be no arguement against video replays in my opinion. which takes longer? a video replay which no-one can dispute or a rubbish descision that is protested for 2 or 3 mins on the pitch and then is all over the papers and press conferences for the next week. players recieve bans for protesting and managers get sent to the stands.
at the end of the day france cheated and should be out of the tournament. wouldn't suprise me if the Irish FA sue FIFA. on a plus side it will be funny watching them crash out in the group stages again with no wins and no goals like last time

Well there's 3 offenses as I see it. First an offside with a player, who just tips the ball a bit further to Henry who then takes his hand in use 2 times, before the ball goes behind the line and he kicks it back in the game to Gallas.
shame on henry what a disgrace he should hang his head in shame .there goes his legacy as a great footballer he will alwasys be knowing as the guy who cheated to get france in to world cup.also how the hell lines man not see it .and when the free kick was taking to guys offside. ahhhh well platini and blatter got what they wanted in the end

Not at all. Messi did the same thing just a year and a half ago. Nobody even remembers it anymore.
