So far i dont understand this race. Almeida needs to go in attack at the last stage. |

Good to see some breakaway action from Shikai, Carapaz and most of all Skjelmose. I'm far from saying the AI won't do shit decisions far too often, but I also feel that this race isn't the best case against the AI. None of the affected GC riders would have been a clear top 10 contender given the really strong startlist (and especially Carapaz has done the same last season in CT and with PCM 2022).
I understand why their managers still hoped for a top 10 nonetheless), but it doesn't seem like an overly stupid AI decision to lose enough time to be allowed going stage hunting instead of fighting for 14th in the GC (keeping in mind the AI can't know that 14th in GC is worth more points in MG than 36th and thus doesn't take such things into account).
But back to the race itself: it's still PHLs race to lose and with the small gaps there's a real possibility someone steals the race from him. I'd actually love to see Padun doing this and getting another huge result for Trans, especially after some of the harsh feedback to his signing back in transfers (it would also proof it really was all fjs fault ).

Another Strange GC race. But happy Lecuisinier won the race, and Skjelmose made the most of that no nonsense timeloss on stage 4 to make this race a brilliant race.

The saddest thing for everyone else is that every time I break down and get really visibly frustrated with the game, it does something to make me immediately eat my words, which is embarrassing on one hand (as I shouldn't get so frustrated and rage about a game), but also offers a backhanded reward.
In all seriousness, apologies to reporters like Heine and my fellow managers for my outbursts on here in recent times. I've gotten stressed about other things in my life like work and then vented those frustrations through here when things don't go my way. It's not respectful or mature, and I will be better than that going forward—in all cases, not just when my luck turns for the better. Thank you to everyone who helps this community keep going, regardless of what happens in PCM.
---
Obviously a fantastic day for Skjelmose to go in the break alone and end up with a stage win and a huge leap in GC. He had quite a bit of competition too, so I really didn't expect that. Honestly, given his low stamina, I thought a day in the break was bound to end in him cracking and losing tons of additional time, so who am I to complain about the AI's strategy for my team. It clearly knows better. I guess the relatively short and easy run up to the final climb helped save his energy, and he didn't need to respond to any huge bursts of speed in the peloton during the long but modest gradients of the final summit. And maybe his leadout work all week helped his legs get into form.
I don't have any delusions that Skjelmose is going to remain even in the top 15 on the final day after this kind of effort, but he did enough today to make this stage a success for us. And obviously fun to see him get his first PTHC win in the white jersey.

Thanks, Heine, for a great report. Not sure it could have gone better for McCormick with Sosa being strong, perfect team support from Kuss at a key moment and the break winning to give Riabushenko a better chance in the points competition. Still think we lose it tomorrow to PHL but could hold on to a 2nd.
I agree with KB's analysis of the AI in this race.

Still not sure what is happening to Eastman and Dombrowski in this group, but sometimes bad days just stack up again and again.
At least for Eastman I think that is the MM impact - on stages like this with one big climb a lot of the hard racing is high pace and will be on MM and HI. Eastman might have a 1 or 2 stat advantage in MT but he has a bigger deficit in MM to riders like Padun and Sosa.
As a result, Stage 6 with all its climbs makes me nervous.

It's not over yet.
Congrats bbl!
Not an ideal stage for us. Not only did we fail to control yet another break (although with guys like Shikai or Skjelmose in there that was a tough job) but only finishing 10th makes KoM and points classification a long shot and denies stage points. Hard to say that when Lecuisinier is still leading but we need more than this!
Kinda cool to see Padun so high in GC after some of the ugly commentary we've got in the off-season!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Congrats bbl. I'm happy to see some of the managers that ended up on the wrong side of the wonky AI getting some consolation today. Godoy doing about as well as could be expected for us. Thanks for the race Imladrik.

We're living off stage results on this one. Honestly this what I was hoping would happen in the earlier mountain stages as well. Well done by Hayter. Lets see what the last one brings.
Congrats to bbl and thanks for the reports!

Thanks for the report Imladrik. Some beautiful pictures!

Great stage from Skejlmose. Also I will say that this was actually a pretty nice highlighting of how riders will attempt to crawl back into the race despite having subpar performances on the first few stages.
Agree. Nice to see some great riding from Skejlmose - such a cool rider (both IRL and here). Also, good to see the AI trying to apologize for earlier hiccups

When I get frustrated or complain, it’s never directed at the reporters or anyone contributing to our great Mangame. I think all of us have felt some level of irritation with PCM or the AI at one point or another. But in a way, that frustration is also a sign of how invested we are - it shows we care about the game. At the end of the day, that passion helps to keep this community alive and thriving.

Last stage up, all reports ofc by Imladrik. I noticed some trouble with the last pics on this report, but just posted anyway as it was just podiums. Most likely Imladrik got the pictures somewhere

Thanks to Imladrik for the reports, may have misplaced my thanks earlier.
I was confused about the parcours so this wasn't what I feared but still not a great stage for Sosa dropping 2 spots on GC but I would have been very happy with 5th on GC before the race. Osorio doing well in the break, unfortunately finishing just outside the points. But add Sosa's performance to a a stage win and 2nd on points for Riabushenko's and definitely our best race this year.
Congrats to Knockout, PHL showing his dominance this time around.

Congrats to knockout to cap the victory off with the final stage and thanks to Imladrik for an exciting race. 2nd in the GC and a couple stage podiums is much more than I could have asked for with Godoy so I'm thrilled with this one.

Happy to have won this and happy to have at least one Lecuisinier stage win in the end. Probably should be more excited about this but its more of a feel of relieve as I'm not super excited about dropping two stages to the break. While a success, this still feels like the bare minimum in a way
Thanks guys

Thanks you imladrik for the great reports (and Heine for posting them)!
Hellemose was very strong from the break there, which was surprising. Especially once the top guys passed the break, I didn't expect him to hold on for a top 10. Otherwise, Skjelmose at least tried to hang tough which was good, and Gregaard had a bad day (but one big climb to the finish doesn't suit his skillset anyway).
Not our most conventional way to go about things, but in the end it was actually a great race for us. Skjelmose with a stage win and the top 10 punched above his weight, plus Gregaard in 22nd was good, and we get the white jersey. The AI giveth and taketh, and most of all increased my cortisol levels dramatically.
Congrats to Evonik!

Nice attempt by Carboni! Second in the stage and 13th in GC is a good result for him.
Dombrowski was dissapointing this Colombia. The first couple of mountain stages his performance was "meh" and then he outright collapsed in stage 5.
Stage 6 was his first solid ride and it got him back up to 7th in GC, which is still two places lower than we expected from him but not a total failure.
Relegation battle, here we come!
Congrats knockout. PHL hasn't always delivered, so I'm glad he did here.

Thanks Imladrik for the reports and congrats knockout!
We were filling in this peloton. 30-40 points, thanks to our GC riders, were the maximum we could achieve.

Ok race in the end. We got the stage results we were hoping for, nothing from the KOM but the Points classification and U25s make up for it.
Congrats to knockout and thanks for the reports!
