Nice stuff from Yates, getting back some prologue time on a lot of the more one-dimensional climbers, impressive by Reis to make that split when most similar riders missed it. Good from my point of view to see the more balanced guys gaining time on a fairly mild hilly stage.
But the real hero was Kennett. Congrats to WJ.

I'm not sure what bothers me the most. If Rodrigues losing time on a transitional stage or a slightly older Adomaitis wiping the floor with the GC candidates. Congrats on an already great race, WJ!

Great ride by Leknessund! 3d in the stage and 2nd in GC is very nice. Carboni also decent.
But how on earth did Aleotti lose 10 minutes in a stage that on paper looks perfect for his skill set?! Must have been a major offday.
Congrats WJ! What are you feeding Kennett?

Stage 2: Great start. First time we've had a sprint train in, maybe 5 years? And to be fair, that's been by design, although it looks like sprint trains are finally a buff rather than a detriment again, so I'll take it. If that keeps up, Forssell with be even more valuable for us going forward. Sucks to get pipped on the line, but very happy with that result.
Stage 3: We're collection of riders at the finish there. Kennett hangs on, but the conventional wisdom that low-hill climbers will see a nerf on hilly stages didn't quite pan out with Reis making the front group. Skjelmose was definitely further behind than I hoped, and never great to lose time on multiple contenders, but overall not a bad day for us. I definitely wanted more from Aranburu, but on such an easy finish, it's hard to see where he would make the difference. I'm glad he's still involved.

Back down to earth here for Kennett, but still a great sprint to finish 4th! Hopefully this should be the points jersey locked up although you never know what the likes of Ackerman will be able to procure on the next hills stages! Thanks for the report!

Nice to see Zijlaard involved in the sprint today getting a top 10 and Misbah is doing well in the top 10 on GC, hopefully he can hold it over the hills as it's a good spot to be in before the TT and Mountain stages yet to come

Another sprint we completely missed. Adomaitis seems like the ghost of Hayakawa. Congrats jandal.
Herregodts and Rikunov getting dropped seems so random. Commiserations KO and Oleg.

Disappointing stage there. Looked like we had some guys near the front earlier in the sprint prep but then Rodenberg was way behind when the actual trains set up. Disappointing for the points classification, but hard to fully complain since Kennett has that jersey locked up anyway, and we already have a good result here.

Good to see we're not completely lost in the sprints. Kamberaj and Kalaba's first outings were disappoining but the Serbian has his first podium on the board!

Zhao gets himself broadly in the vicinity of the sprint here. But 16th isn't much to celebrate.
Yates safely placed. Alex Julajuj seems to be his bodyguard on these stages so nice to see him playing a big role for the team.

Eventful race so far for us, a lot of Xero riders past, present, and future all involved in good and bad ways! Frustrating Pidcock didn't make the most of that group getting away on Stage 3 to gain some time bonuses in the sprint as that's what he used last year to get in the GC fight proper. Still nice to be on the right side of it. And Lutsyshyn getting a win so early in the season is a bit unexpected but very welcome, sprinters like that can be good little investments or not much of anything, hope it's a sign he can be the former
Dylan Kennett though, wow! Aside from the obvious stars that had to be sold in 2021-22 he's the rider I regret losing the most (poor renewals skills), have really enjoyed him coming into his own the last couple of seasons and this race has been amazing for him so far, love it! And then a weird one today for Herregodts, don't enjoy seeing that at all
EDIT: And just seen Mr Xero himself George Bennett lost time as well. Shitty one indeed

2nd is a lot better but still not a win for Coquard Even worse, we lost a lot of time with the key guys so that's not good. Hopefully we can make some moves and get points in other ways. Not the race we were hoping for at all here.
Congrats to the winner and thanks for the reports!

Herregodts out of it is a big blow for Evonik, at least on such an innocent flat stage. Feel sorry for Evonik and knockout.
Good to see Kragh get involved in another sprint, can’t ask for more. Romo dropped together with the Herregodts group at least should make him very Fredheim for the upcoming two hilly stages. At least that must be the hope. Fingers crossed for good positioning. |

Carboni and Aleotti caught in the split. We even destroyed our TC here, because only two riders were not caught.
Our scoring will likely depend fully on Leknessund.

Congrats Jandal, great stage for you!
Herregodts's finish on this stage just make yesterday that much more mysterious.
Did not expect Kennett to hold onto yellow but I will happilly take the extra points and was nice to see some break action on top of Kennett working to actively protect the green jersey as well!
Thanks for the report, surely Dylan loses the yellow at the Viana, but then again my team has always been quite good at that specific climb

A bit unforunate that the group swell back so big as we had a lot of guys positioned well and especially Adria could have benefitted from a few more gaps on the hilly stages. I feel like i should celebrate this stage result by Herregodts but the frustration about the flat stage still sits too deep
Although it might set Herregodts up for a good points classification result in the end too with the TT still coming up so thats nice too

Congrats to the winners of the last couple of stages and thanks for the consistent reports to Imladrik!
It's been an annoyingly quiet race for us so far without any breakaway appearances ... At least Ranaweera sits in an okay spot in the GC despite losing some seconds on the likes of Reis. If he also survives the last hilly stage tomorrow the race finally starts for us with the TT.
